What a load of rubbish they don’t have to do soft searches at all to contact you. 

You will see insurance brokers and finance companies soft searches on your credit report because A) You’ve been looking for an insurance product such as car insurance or house insurance. if you’ve used something such as MSE credit club or other comparison site for credit card product. 

Also why bother resurrecting an old thread with something that didn’t really need to be said or relevant to the Who is newday thread!!
