Who are Newday Cards Ltd

My Amazon CC is supplied through NewDay, never had a problem with them.1

So is Experien now removing credit searches just because you say you don't recongsise it? This I find a disgrace.0

What a great result. But I still feel pretty angry at this Newday company for their practices - aren't they illegal?
No. Somebody has applied for a credit card in your name. Probably somebody you know, who was hoping to be able to intercept the card. Or just to p you off.
Think carefully now.1 -

Is it more or less of a 'disgrace' that a mischievous person who knows your name, address and date of birth can apply for credit in your name—perhaps successfully—and cause a hard search to be recorded on your credit file?0 -

Nothing should be removed from the file unless Newday agree. If there is any fraud going on a CIFAS entry should have been marked there by Experian.
Things should not just get removed by the bureau.0 -
Have just checked and my one is the finance agreement I opened with AO.com
Found that out by checking my email for Newday, they were quite open about it.0 -
No need to be angry at NewDay for this - they are simply relaying your personal information to the CRAs, and that personal information isn't available to just anyone. Like others have said (but seems to have been ignored), someone CLOSE to you is applying for credit using your information. They wouldn't know your email address and also be able to get hold of the card unless they're a member of your household (or someone who knows your details and who hasn't realised they can't get the card out of your mailbox). Nobody likes to think that someone they know would do this to them of course...
Your other posts indicate there might be a fresh ex-partner. So you might want to contact NewDay to try to find out which card was applied for, then contact that place to check whether an account was opened. You don't want to find out the hard way that someone has bought a load of stuff from Debenhams under your name.0 -
I have just come across this topic and though old thought that the following maybe of interest. I know that before insurers can even contact you with an offer they have to do a soft search. This is why you will often see insurance brokers, etc names on your reports even though you have never contacted them. It may have come via the post, email etc. Now this could also be done by others including any form of finance and that includes credit cards.
