Barclays Mortgages - Track It

Hi everyone,
I am waiting on a decision regarding my mortgage at Barclays and using the Track-It feature. I am getting frustrated with it as it keeps saying that they require more information and to speak to the Advisor. I rang the mortgage advice line first and they told me we had certain documents missing that we have supplied to the advisor. The online Track It says that they are doing a valuation, but surely if there were items missing they wouldn't have proceeded to this stage yet before making sure everything else is in place first i.e.the money side. The advice line also said when the valuation was booked which the online Track It didn't say. The thing is driving me mad as I can't help but check. It has only been a week but according to the advisor, our mortgage should be straightforward as have no debt or finance and we are not asking for a huge amount. I would appreciate your advice and thoughts.

Welcome to the wonderful world of dealing with Barclays mortgages.

What you are witnessing is not a cause for concern regarding your lending chances, merely the result of poor communication from the Lender which is commonplace.

Communication with Barclays is best left to someone with experience of it (ie your Broker).

Keep out of it, stop contacting Barclays direct, and let your Broker do their job.

Mortgage trackers are a shocking idea.
Dont get me started on them I could rant about them for an hour or so. They are only any use if the lender updates them. They also do not take account of the fact that we might have sent the information across and it is just taking the lender 3 days to look at them....ie they still show as waiting for information despite already having that info, what it should actually say is "we have it, but have not got round to looking at it yet".

The amount of calls I get from people who think nothing is happening with their application. I now try to tell people not to use it, you will get quicker and more accurate updates from me.

I am currently in the process of obtaining a mortgage with Barclays and also find the 'Track It' system somewhat infuriating.

We were told we would also get updates via text message or email, but have only ever received one of these when Barclays were arranging the valuation. No message to say when the valuation was going to be, and no message when the valuation came back approved.

'Track It' has also been very vague as ACG mentions above. It was updated when they were arranging the valuation, and says 'we will let you know when this will take place'. This didn't happen, and then a week later it just said 'valuation approved'. As mentioned before, no messages were sent about this, or emails from our adviser, so the only way I knew the valuation was approved was by logging in to 'Track It'.

And then for the last 2 weeks I have seen almost daily updates regarding the 'key facts illustration', but as you have probably seen yourself, there is no supporting information to let you know what exactly has been updated. All very frustrating, but after speaking to our mortgage adviser at Barclays he is expecting an offer to be issued any day now...... so even though I know it will only increase my stress levels, I will probably continue to log in to 'Track It' every 30 mins in the hope of seeing an update regarding the offer!!

Thanks for your advice guys, I haven't used a mortgage broker so I only have their advice line and the 'Track it' to try and find what is going on. I have seen several updates in the key facts Illustrations part as Smevchenko has said but cannot see any further movement. What I don't understand is how the first stage (as that what it looks like based on the layout) can say they are missing parts but they have arranged a valuation. Surely it makes sense to ensure all the information they need is there before instruction a valuation because this must cost them and if they don't have all the financial information about us surely they don't know if we are viable. This is horrible just waiting and checking, everything is hold until we know.

We went with Barclays and they arranged our valuation for a Friday, we had the valuation approved on the Tuesday and on the weds they asked for some paperwork before issuing the offer.
I know it's hard, but our timescale with them was just over 2 weeks, which wasn't actually that bad but it felt like a lot longer.

Fingers crossed you hear something soon.

Thank you, this is what is worrying. When I spoke to the mortgage phone advice line they said we had pieces of information missing that we supplied to our advisor and said we needed to contact our advisor. We have contacted him and he has said that they instruct the valuation at the same time as reviewing our documents and that he uploaded all our documents, which they will be reviewing. Why not say they are reviewing all the documents instead of saying X and Y are missing and they must not have been uploaded.

Update: so after contacting the Advisor after the call, he came back to us today to say that he has uploaded everything and the instruct the valuation as a matter of cause. Just half an hour later our valuation has been done and approved! It says that they will be preparing our mortgage offer if there is nothing further they need. Yet just above it still says our declaration is missing and despite the other stages being ticked and green they all say we need more information! I cannot wait to give this thing feedback!

Sounds just like the status on my application. Adviser has confirmed underwriters have all the information they want, they just required a scan of my passport, but upon receiving that (sent on Tuesday), they would then be able to give us an offer. 'Track It' still states they are reviewing the application (this is ticked), and they require more info. So either the adviser is not actually up to date with developments or the 'track It' system is woefully poor. Hopefully the latter!

I would think the 'Track It' system is not up to date as our adviser said he had uploaded everything he asked for including the parts they told us was missing so I am thinking it the system. The declaration was edoc signed on Monday evening and according to the the Track It system that is all that is missing but you call them and they say other things are missing like a payslip. It is annoying as the next step is the offer and we have no idea where it is at. I would rather be told by our advisor that we need to supply something rather than just looking at a screen that is just confusing and flawed.

Im also in the process of applying for a mortgage with Barclays and the "track it" feature has not been updated at all.... it still says they're waiting for documents I know they have received, it could be such a great feature to help people stop stressing
