Porting number in 8th month of contract

Hello
I have signed up 12 month free line rental deal with BMP.net on Orange in March 2007. I had option to port number while I signed the contract but I did not use it.

Now Is it possible to port a number to this contract (in month 8)?
Will I still be able to get cash back from BMP.net?

Regards

PS: I have signed up a new contract with Mobile2yourdoor on Vodafone but I can not port my "3" number to Vodafone. so I thought I could port to Orange as above.

  • Just an update.
I have called BMP.net and they "Nick" have told me that it is OK as they do not own the numbers and I'll still be able to get the cashback without any problems.

They still have not answered my email, I might go for it if I get a posotive response via email.

Anybody ever had done it like this before i.e. ported number in middle of contract in a 12 month free deal with cash back involved?

    regards
  • I signed up for a contract today and the salesperson never gave me the option to keep my number do you so i would also like to know if its possible

    thanks
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something
  • generally if you have a PAC code, you just need to provide it to the network operator and thay will action it within 7days.

Issues arise if you sign up via CPW or other companies and they have a requirement to use/provide the PAC within a certain time.

phone up the network and enquire if you can 'port your number in' you will need a 'pac-code' from the network you are wanting to move your number from.

pS) enquire as to possible charges for PAC codes, as if your contract is in a subscription (ie, minimum term contract not yet expired) you will be liable to buy-out the remainder of your contract.
