Tax free childcare and unemployment

Looking for advice. I receive childcare vouchers while my husband has recently started a new job, after the cutoff for applying for vouchers, and currently has a 6 month contract. We have 2 pre-schoolers, one starting school in September. The tax free childcare scheme should suit us a lot better, but if we move over to that and his contract does not get renewed, what happens? Is there a grace period to find a new job before the government stops paying in? If the payments stop, how do you reinstate it once you are employed again? I cannot find any guidance on this, so any help appreciated!

I don't know if it helps you but the cut off date for childcare vouchers has been expended to Ocoiber 2018.
