Can you back up your important info and reinstall XP? It's often the easiest way for a non-Techie.
I work from home as a consultant and have a lot of programmes installed. Not sure if I could back them all up you may be able to advise me otherwise. PC is working fine and if I just exit the 2 programmes which appear on start up without clicking OK there doesn't seem to be a problem but just annoying. I do think it was the Apple one. Just kill teenage daughters!!

If the PC is working fine, maybe just disable the programs from starting up via msconfig or by installing Spybot Search & Destroy.
