AMEX made a point about telling me that Boots now accept their cards on my last bill (about 10 days ago) both instore and online, twice!

Thanks for that, which means it's official. I'll keep an eye out for this on my bill which is due soon.

Yes, boots have been taking solo for a while, online too.
Also did you know that some online stores that dont say they take solo, do? Tesco does not (or didnt) say at their online store that they take solo, but if you enter the solo details where is says switch it works!

Yep, got my bill and the additional page showed (amongst other offers) that AmEx is now welcomed in Boots stores across the country. So it's official and Boots were wrong to refuse it last week. Oh dear.

Think I'm missing out - only get my statements through the www site. Are there usually any good offers with the statement?

This month there were a few that caught my eye:

    - Something about Wimbledon and AmEx being the prefered card.
    - Selfridges 10% off day for all Amex card holders on weekend 2nd and 3rd July
    - Harrods offer: spend more than £150 in one transaction at Harrods on [a certain weekend/day that I forget] and get entered into a competition to win £1000 of Harrods vouchers.

I would have thought you got these displayed online under the member offers page. If not, then online billing sounds like too much hassle for the little they give you.

    Anyway, hope that helps.

Good news that Boots FINALLY accepts Amex. One of the reasons that I gave up on Amex was that some of the major retailers didn't look near it. Still, it doesn't tempt me back to them. You always had to hedge your bets and take two cards when you went shopping usually ending up with two bills at the end of a month, and spending way more than you should! :D
