The creditors are informed. It goes on the register. You get sent your 'debtors notice.'

That's about it unless you win the lottery or get an inheritance.

The debts are frozen until next April, when they're discharged.

You get on with your life.

Ok. Sounds great. I hope it's that easy. I've already downloaded my entry on the register and the CAB have sent me some advice about dealing with creditors that contact me over the next few weeks. They also said that if creditors are being persistent to go back to my DRO advisor and he will write to them.
I don't play the lottery so that's not gonna happen and inheritance is more unlikely than a lottery win.
    Thanks again for your support.:T
  • Great news about your DRO.

I would suggest keeping a record of your DRO number, debts included and dates, for a while as some debts may be sold on in the future and they tend to sell them in bulk so no-one checks what's happened to them.

Just in case some solicitors/debt collection agency send you a letter or call chancing their arm that you'll pay something.

Hope everything goes well for you.
