Highview PCN, wrong name on letter

Hi everyone,
I'm a long time lurker and have read through threads on this site many times before. I want to thank all that provide information to help others, it's an amazing feeling when you search for something on google with that sinking feeling and come across a forum like this and find so many other people with the same issue and a lot of quality advice.
I want to mention I have done a fair bit of reading on Highview cases on this forum and have also read the ''NEWBIES FAQ'' sticky.
As per the title, a family member (the registered keeper) recently got the Highview letters that their car had overstayed, for two separate occasions (two separate letters for two separate occasions, one a few days after the other, I wont list too many details following the advice of other experienced posters).
One thing both of these have in common is that the surname is badly misspelled (a random person reading it would be forgiven for thinking it was a different person), but the car registration details are correct. We wanted to appeal the first one but not sure what to do now. I searched for a similar situation but couldn't find it.
Any light you can shine is greatly appreciated.

Just appeal both of them online/by email, using the NEWBIES template.
The keeper appeals, gives their address and spells their name right, in both appeals.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I just needed the confirmation so they wouldn't miss out on something that was staring them in the face, yet was obvious to an experienced fighter.0

I wonder if the DVLA has their name spelt wrong. Worth checking (not the driving licence data).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I was just about to say I checked their driving licence, but that could be different? What else can we check?0

They got the details from the reg details not the licence!!0

Of course!! I wasn't thinking...0

Just out of curiosity, if someone overstays again in the future, could they appeal again or will they keep records of all appeals from all vehicles? Also, has anyone been taken to court over a private parking charge? Can you safely ignore one and just wait out the letters for six years?0

Many people, probably hundreds, are taken to court over private parking charges every day.
Ignoring is not a sensible option.0 -
Even by Highview?0
