Heating not coming on...

Certainly looks like an unvented system. The tank height suggests the thermal expansion is built-in.
I have seen one system where it's run at mains water pressure, you don't need a filling loop and gauge. The system is pressurised by a series of actions in closing valves, opening a hot water tap etc. Quite complex!0 -
It's a thermal store, the header tank is built on top of the tank. The hot water is heated up as it passes through a coil inside the tank.
Boiler looks like a Apollo? You should keep the selector switch on high with a thermal store otherwise you will not heat the hot water enough.
One pump will pump the heating the other pump circulates the water from the boiler to the tank, no zone valves or anything like that.0 -
Bizarre that you have a roof tank full of water though I wonder what that is doing !!!55358;!!!56596;I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Here are your pictures. You have been answered by others and I have nothing more to add to what was said except might be worth checking out Apollo boiler/heating system. Found this for you.

Maybe it's just a normal cold water tank.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
