Holly it was a lovely surprise to see your opening post this morning, take it easy in settling back into your own home. 15 minute rule for those chores and tasty nutritious food of your own choice would seem a good bet to begin with.

Painful wrist after my gardening efforts yesterday, so will pop back when supports applied and painkillers imbibed.

    Have a good day all.

    Morning all,

    Quick one from me again.

Cousins birthday dinner last night was lovely. The night cost me £50 in all (gift, dinner, drinks etc). Not ideal but it is a special occasion.

Tonight I was meant to have date night with my gran, but she's double booked me, so I've a free night. I'll go to the gym after work and probably chill for a bit.

Great to see you back Holly
Nelski - Hope all goes well.

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, especially Holly and the TA's.

Wonderful to see Holly on this morning, do take it easy, baby steps the way to go, you need to recover, sleep if you need to make sure you eat, even if its snacks and leave the dust, it will still be there when you have shuffled off this mortal coil........it doesn't matter, what does is that you recover.

OH has had his eye done, true to form he started complaining this morning, I have swabbed his eye and put the drops in for him, he has to have them 4 times a day and the hospital has given us a booklet with a chart in so it can be filled in.

I was exhausted so did not get up until 8.30, taking my own advice and taking it steady today, have put a load of whites in think they will dry, have also switched the heating off, I switched it off yesterday, just put it on for a while before we went to bed.

    Usual fish supper tonight.......
  • Welcome back Holly :j and thank you for starting us off :T. I hope after a few nights in your own bed you will be able to sleep past 4:00 a.m.
I have to say from what Nelski reported, I am not surprised that you are exhausted. I agree with the other posters, please take it easy and if you feel you must do something then pick just the one thing that is annoying/stressing you the most. Please do eat well - hm is always better than hospital food :D I am sending you lots of (((hugs))) and I am so pleased that you are back :j

I fell asleep sitting up, knitting in hand, on the sofa. I think I was only asleep for a couple of hours & woke up about 7:30. Watched a bit of the Commonwealth Games, then went to make myself a cup of tea. Ended up boiling the kettle three times as I got distracted - a few cups washed up and the fronts of half my kitchen cupboards washed down :) I finally made my tea & am now sitting down reading everyone’s posts.

Currently dry outside but looks as if it might rain:( Plan for the day is to ‘hide’ the last of the clutter, vacuum & V*x the downstairs carpet, finish washing the kitchen cupboard fronts.

If I have any oomph left I will clean the kitchen window & door frames, wash the windows & steam clean the kitchen floor.

My DH is still in bed - I will make him a coffee shortly & once he is dressed he can fix the wardrobe to the wall, put the upright vacuum back together (it is in pieces as the pipe was blocked & he took the opportunity to wash the filters) & give the bathroom walls a quick coat of paint (nothing too fancy as we will be getting a new bathroom in the summer/autumn).

Re my clutter I have a new mantra “OUT OF SIGHT, IN MIND” :rotfl: but as I have my list of jobs that need doing the clutter will get sorted eventually. My DSis is moving in within the next six weeks so DH & I have tried to create a space for her boxes :o

Anyway, this isn’t getting anything done so have a good day everyone & see you tomorrow.

Camelot I went to costco too yesterday but just to pick up another pair of the sketchers shoes in a different colour....was so proud of myself to grab the shoes and head home after the obligatory sample of pizza, feta cheese, haribos, biscuits and a hot sauce :D:D Unfortunately in my haste I got the wrong blummin size so back again this morning to replace ...mind you I will get the coffee and croissants :o

Thanks for all your messages re the op I wont hear till next week but apparently my consultant is pretty strict on this  and yes snoozer seems like my 3rd pre op may well be on the books

Hello quick post from me as instead of the Friday Tidy, I'm writing some reports, to get them done. I'm trying desperately to get everything done in goid time because the weeks go so fast and I don't want to leave anything unready for new workers to pick up. Also, I've a supervisee out at present so am covering work.

Holly, lovely to see you posting again. I was your 4 am twin but was just pootling about at that time.

    Must get back to work
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Injection went well thankfully. We went early and was seen early, hence I'm back home and she is asleep in her cot.

The hill walking back was a killer though. I'm still recovering.

Holly sorry I had to do such a hurried "welcome home" yesterday - I was literally trying to type on the pc and get across to the sofa to eat dins all at the same time. :D As has already been said, just do quarter-hour bursts of housework - you'll be surprised how quickly you get the dusting done doing this (says she who has just despatched Mr LW to dust the bedroom).

TA everything crossed for Mr TA's stent change thingy; that's good that your DS is going along for moral support and to do taxi service.

Nelski everything crossed for you as well - that you can have your op as planned; goodness knows, you've been in pain for long enough!

*checks clock* almost doggie-walking time, so I'd better bimble off and find my coat and boots. ;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

It is good to see that you are back.

    Nelski

I hope your op can go as planned as it is so unsettling to not know what will be happening.

Laundry is on the line outside and a couple of parcels have been delivered. Dishwasher has been emptied and reloaded and a chicken soup is in the pressure king for later. Breakfast was smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and just had a yoghurt while realising how hungry I was so might actifry some sausages and dry fry an egg and tomatoes.

I still don't know what dds plans are for tomorrow so am having a quiet day and recharging my batteries.

    Hugs to all.
