Weirdest TV signal problem!!!

Hi,
On Tuesday the kitchen TV (plugged into aerial and receiving freeview. Other TVs in house connected to sky) suddenly displayed ‘no signal’. Tried retuning but it still picked up no channels. Tried 2 other TVs and same thing. Tried again with the aerial lead in the spare bedroom and same problem. Tried the tv in a different house and it worked fine.
We called an aerial guy out, and he plugged his signal tester into the same aerial sockets and he picked up all the channels on his device (he was viewing live channels on this device) and it said it was a very strong signal. The guy couldn’t figure out the problem, because as soon as our TVs were plugged back in they picked up no channels, and didn’t even register a signal! He even called some of the other engineers and none of those guys could think of a problem either!! In the end he left in a state of utter confusion.
Do any of you moneysaving geniuses have any ideas? Would be a pain to pay another call out charge and not solve the problem.
Many thanks,
Johnny

If the TV Aerial connection loops through the sky box try removing the lead into the skybox then test the other freeview TVs.0

Thanks! Will give it a go in the morning.
Just found it odd that all was well, then without anything (that we!!!8217;re aware of) changing this problem has occurred.
Been racking our brains trying to think of what could be the cause. The sky box isn!!!8217;t something we considered, so sounds promising.0 -
I remember having the same problem when I received my Talktalk Youview set top box. Could nt get any Freeview signals at all
I had to go into the menu and enable the RF setting to "on".. Very odd why the default setting on a new set top box like this was RF "off "
Possibly your box has somehow reverted to its default settings with RF "off "0 -
No joy with either I!!!8217;m afraid. The aerial doesn!!!8217;t go to sky, but tried unplugging it anyway to no avail.
And no RF option available.
Thanks anyway. Any other suggestions?
Thanks.0 -
Have you tried using a different lead/cable from the wall socket to the TV?0

Have you got an aerial splitter in the loft?
The main TV aerial cable plugs in one side, it then splits the signal to multiple outgoing TV aerial cables, so you can have freeview in multiple rooms.
I had one, it died and I lost my signal.
Quick trip to Screwfix for a new splitter, and all was well in TV land.0 -
There’s no socket in the wall. The cable itself just comes through a hole drilled in the wall. Old school0

The splitter is actually on the roof... but it makes sense that’s the problem thanks. Will investigate0

Is it a powered splitter. ie. there's an in-line power supply that the coax socket connects to?0
