Renewing car insurance before moving out of London

My car insurance is due for renewal this month. I’m moving out of London in June and my car will no longer be kept on street overnight so I’m hoping that my premium will be a bit cheaper based on the new circumstances.
I spoke with my current insurer Admiral and asked about insuring for just 2months instead of having to pay an admin fee when I move house and missing out on the benefits of my new situation. The CS rep said that if I pay 12months up front and then my details change mid-way through my term and they work out cheaper then they would take the difference off the cost of the admin fee charged and refund me if it was significantly cheaper.
Is this true or should I continue to look at trying to insure for just two months before renewing for 12months in June at a cheaper premium based on the new circumstances?

It is true.
A short term policy for just 2-months is likely to work out more expensive overall than simply amending the policy once you move. I recent'y changed car and even with a new, more expensive car my insurance was cheaper so taking into account the £25 admin fee for a change (Sheilas Wheels) the change in car only cost me £11!0 -
Some insurers, like Direct Line, don't charge an admin fee for changes in details, but that isn't a good reason to choose them if the premium is a lot higher. You'd be best to get comparisons and buy the cheapest appropriate cover. If, when you move, the new premium seems excessive, do some more comparisons and weigh up the cost of switching your insurance to a new provider.0
