AJ Bell - HTB interest included in Lifetime ISA Contribution?

Hello,
I transferred my Help to Buy ISA from Halifax after the interest was paid on my savings into a new Lifetime ISA.
I had made contributions of £1,600 in the year into the Help to Buy. I had expected to be able to top this up by £2,400 once the Lifetime ISA was open.
However, AJ Bell says I can only pay in £2,193 as the interest received over the year is being treated as part of my contribution. Is that correct?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Yes, it's correct that HTB interest earned after 6 April 2017 counts towards the £4K 2017/18 LISA limit if transferred.0
