Is there a way of listening to FM radio through wireless headphones? I tried without success using this FM radio https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XGWX43V/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

with this bluetooth transmitter https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00T7N2D88/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It didn't seem to work as the bluetooth transmitter does not act as an aerial so no reception.

Data coverage is patchy so internet radio isn't an option.

Can anyone suggest an alternative set-up?

Usually on these sorts of radios (the portable ones) its the headphone cable itself that acts as the antenna so if that's the case it won't be possible to use wireless headphones with them.

Maybe you could use a headphone extension lead, and plug the transmitter into that ? (Not something I've tried myself.)

When I read the title of your post, this is the setup i was thinking of, and these items should work together.. The Blue tooth is advertised on your link as "Mpow Bluetooth Receiver / Transmitter"

Once paired, you may have to turn up the volume on the radio. The only other thing I can think of is a non standard jack plug/socket, but this is doubtfull?

There’s no reception with just the Bluetooth transmitter plugged in. I’ve ordered an extension cable to act as an antenna

So if the items are a foot apart it all works? Of the opinion it should. thinking along the lines that the antenna is internal, would say the device is duff.

when paired, it would not surprise me it that when you tap on the metal connections of wifi jack plug lead with your fingers, you hear a corresponding noise bring transmitted

Get a 3.5mm earphone extension cable and put the Bluetooth transmitter on the end of that, the cable will act as the aerial. These cables used to be in the Pound shop.

Ironically, I listen to TV sound in the living room using an FM car transmitter at the TV end and an old Creative stick MP3 player with FM radio at the earphones end. I reckon the radio which takes a single aaa battery is smaller than your Bluetooth receiver. See if you can find a tiny MP3 player with FM, or maybe one of those pocket DAB/FM radios it’ll be more convenient.

In this case you have the tv aerial to receive the signal whereas there!!!8217;s no aerial on a Bluetooth transmitter or FM radio transmitter.

How do you connect the mp3/FM radio to your headphones / speaker? I need wireless to use it with wireless headphones and MP3 /FM radio players do not have Bluetooth or WiFi

I assume you already check you are in transmitter mode not receiver mode?

If you can't get it work by extending 3.5mm lead, you may just buy a headphone with built in FM. They are £10 - 20 on amazon.

The antenna isn't internal. As has been said, the headphone lead acts as the antenna for the radio. So (we're hoping) it works if they have a foot of cable between them.

Sorry, got my stupidy hat on. Reading the above I thought there was not enough wifi signal, rather than not enough radio signal
