free sim no money on phone?

I've got an old Vodafone mobile that I want to be able to receive calls and texts but never phone out.

It presently has a Sainsbury sim that no longer works and I was wondering if there is any sim I could put in it and never have to put any money on it?

Asda SIMs come with 10 minutes, 100MB10MB of data and 10 texts pre-loaded. Like all SIMs though you have to make at least one chargeable call or text every 6 months or it'll be deactivated but those 10 texts should last awhile. Apparently the initial free package only lasts 30 days.

Edit: I forgot to say you'd have to unlock the phone if needed since Asda use EE, just Google it.

But I think that only lasts for thirty days.

Lebara runs on Vodafone, I had a SIM from them that I never topped up and it stayed live for years, but that may not be so these days. Sometimes their free SIM ordered online has £1 credit.

Indeed it does, and you only get 10 MB (or did when I ordered mine Mid-march).

I got a Lebara sim and put it in my old phone and can at the moment receive calls and texts without putting any credit on it and there is no credit on it.

I have no intention of ever making a call or texting from it, how long will will it last before I have to put credit on it or get another sim?

Just order a free Vodafone PAYG sim.

Once it arrives, phone ##002# call to turn off voicemail.
