Working out if i have a ' gravity hot water with pumped radiator' or 'fully pumped system'

We've just moved in and I want to change the the programmer. At the moment, the manual states that if we have a 'gravity HW pumped CH, then this is known as 10 mode and we can only have CH when the HW is on. However, on the manual, the previuos owner made a note to say it's the 'fully pumped HW & CH' system which means that I can switch it over to mode 16 and can have HW and CH independently. Whats the best way to find out? I have two red pumps in the airing cupboard, a small overhead tank in the loft that feds the Cylinder (both hot and cold water is mains fed) as it is a 'ghedhill torrent eco' cyclinder. Thanks.

Thank you, so why did the previous owner set the dip switches at the back of the programmer to mode 10 and write on the manual it's a mode 16 set up. Who knows.....
If I change the dip switch at the back of the programmer to fully pumped system and it isn't, whats the potential damage it can do?0 -
It!!!8217;s possible the system was gravity at some point in time and then converted to !!!8220;y plan!!!8221;. When this happens then if they havent ran a hot water off cable from the timer to the mid pos valve then you will not be able to have heating without hot water.
Of course its also possible that someone has fitted a new timer and not set the dip switch correctly.
Just try it and then try heating on its own and see if it works.0 -

So I can try to see if Central heating will work, if it does then i'm on fully pumped system. If not, then I just revert back. Would it cause any damage?0 -

It doesn't have a mid pos valve, two pumps one for primary & one for heating (thermal store)I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

Southcoast my hero, been doing my head in, stopping auto correct writing its and having to delete it.
Yes I appreciate it's now a thermal store but the 2 scenarios I said are the most likely reasons why it's like it is now. Would guess it's been converted to fully pumped then again upgraded to a thermal store. All speculation though.0 -
I know I've been the same the forum team sent me those linksI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
