If an item is too big for the letterbox, does the postie have to knock the door?

Our postie and delivery people will put parcels in the garage or the shed although they have to walk round to the back of the house to access them.

My cousin, who's a farm manager, once had a postie who would lean in the window to leave post on the kitchen windowsill and pick up any outgoing stuff to save them going down to the postbox a mile away in the village. Clearly it's a rural thing and if you know your regular postie and trust them great. Couldn't do it here in Sarf Lundun

Yes, our postie will take items if they are stamped.

If I was a postman I would do the bare minimum, you wont get any thanks for making an effort in that job

I even had a driver ring me at work to tell me he left my new phone in a drawer in the garage cos he knew I would be wanting it

I live in a tiny community, we don't get passing strangers, the front door only gets locked at night to appease mother ( she's not realised the back door is never locked lol)

Don’t you ever wander around half naked or at least in very little?

He doesn't breeze in, he leaves everything in the lobby which is a long way down a hall, downstairs from my bedroom, bathroom, living room

He often catches sight of me in me nightie, not half naked
