HI there,
Thought I’d pop my head in and say I’m reading your diary too! Well, I’ve just read all of it and wanted to say keep it going...you’re doing a great job!
I have daughters who are 21 and 19, both just had birthdays this month...another case of bad planning! I was really stuck for eldest’s 21st - she doesn’t wear jewellery much (had a pandora bracelet and Tiffany necklace for her 18th) so I got her a tattoo voucher:) Just a little one! The website not on the high street had some lovely bits of jewellery I was very tempted to get though.
I’m a teaching assistant too, loving half term! My youngest did her A levels last year and has had a year out, just working, and is off to uni in September too! She’s going to be doing education, wants to be a primary school teacher. I can’t get rid of her though, she’s going to Bath Spa which is local so staying at home with me;) I don’t mind though, don’t have a husband here so I like the company!!
Anyway, I must get off and do something useful with my day:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hi Pixiechick, welcome! I bought my eldest daughter a Tiffany bracelet for her 18th, on credit in all likelihood
daughter no.2 isn't bothered with jewellery so I don't see the point is wasting money on a Tiffany bracelet for her, I want a keepsake in some form though so need to find something! Old me would have bought the bracelet anyway though:eek: so I am learning!!!
Well it's another day! I've done £5 PADding, the Next account is currently below £950 (actually £946), interest of around £20 will be added on 5th June, so I'm hoping to do enough PADding to keep it below £950 when the interest is added! I love to have little milestones and play games with the figures to get the debt down!
Went to the physiotherapist about my bad back and told her about my worries and my history with breast cancer. She was lovely and very reassuring and whilst my head told me I was being silly and overthinking things, I needed someone to listen and understand. Anyway, she's diagnosed me with something called piriformis syndrome, given me exercises to do and fingers crossed, it should resolve itself.:T what a waste of my half term though, I've so much I need to sort and do and have to sit down all the time because of pain
Oh well, I won't moan anymore!!
Right, I'm going to get a cuppa and then sit and read some diaries! Have a good day everyone xxxx0 -

I'm still reading! It's motivating me to be sensible so please keep updating!0

Evening, it's been a while since I've updated here. The bills are ticking over, PADding the Next account every day, so that's coming down fantastically, should be below £900 by the end of this week!
If I'm honest though, I'm losing momentum. We've got all our bills and payments in order and the PADding is continuing so I'm still doing all the things I set out to, but I just feel a bit 'meh' about it all - not sure how else to explain it! I don't intend to sabotage my efforts by stopping doing allivm doing, as I know I'd wake up one day and kick myself for it, but I just seem to have lost my way a little!
In other news, my back is a lot better, I saw a massage therapist on the weekend (cost £25, but it really was a case of needs must). It's so much better but I've got some wonderful bruising to show for it!!!
We're doing a little Home growing, and we're starting to be able to pick strawberries, not a huge amount, but it's lovely to be able to do! Got tomatoes, peppers and also butternut squash on the go too!
I'm sitting in bed, with a cuppa and going to have a look around the forum to see if I can get my mojo back!
Hope everyone is ok xxxx0 -
Keep plodding.

Thanks Beanielou, I will! I guess the honeymoon period is over and it's down to the hard graft now!! I'll do it!0

I really feel for you RhiBi, it can become a hard slog after a while.
It is a well worn method but I practice gratutude every single day ...it has been shown to rewire your brain so you don't focus on "lack of" yor glass is always have full (I am a stoic so I am grateful for the glass!!).
I rejigged my budgets a little so that I felt less constrained. I now have £120 per week to cover food, fuel and socialising - this gave me a little bit of flex so I felt less restricted and "punished" by my past life choices!!
I think you do right regrouping with a cuppa when the blues hit - this will pass and your future self will be so grateful you didn't revert to old habits!
Keep on keeping on!
((Hugs))

RiBi, Working Mum is right about rejigging things.
I often felt the way you did when battling my debt. If I planned a treat or took my foot off the gas just for a little while I usually sprang back with renewed energy.
Keep it up. You are doing fineIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thank you everyone for your support and advice xxxx0
