Samsung Note 8 or S9+

Hi all,
I am due an upgrade and am soon to go off on holiday. So thought it would be a good opportunity to upgrade that snapper on the back of my phone. I've currently got an S7 Edge, and am keen to stay with Samsung as I have a Samsung Gear sport watch.
I like the note 8 because of the SPen, but the S9 is that bit newer and better with face unlock, AR emoji (however I probably wouldn't ever use it) but you get the jist. I'll mainly use the camera for video whilst away and record what we get up to. Are they similar enough to warrant getting a Note 8 or is the S9 that bit better making it worth me plumping for that?

Forget the Samsung, if you want the best camera phone take a look at the new Huawei P20 Pro.

I did consider it, but I really like Samsung and like I said, I've got the Gear watch that works with S Health etc. That said, I do like the chameleon colour back panel of the Huawei.

If I had the choice of those two, I would say S9. The Note pen is a bit of a gimmick IMHO. I had the Note 4, and I must have used the pen only two or three times, and only then because 'it was there and I felt I had to use it'
