Ok so I followed some of the advice ...
Wrong. You should have followed ALL of the advice.
If these were bomb disposal instructions, and you only followed some of them, you'd be blown to bits by now.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -
IMO some of these court procedures could be made a lot simpler.
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
This looks to be your third thread about this.
You need to keep everything in the one thread which gives the background to this from the start
Ask a board guide to merge this thread with your other one and post any further questions there0 -

They are simple as it all comes down to the facts relating to
1. Signs
2. Wording on signs
3. Location of signs
4. The PPC contract
5. Did I mention the signs.
It is not rocket science and a quick way to make a lot of money. Codes of Practice were only put in to slow the process of harvesting the public who make minor human errors at £100 a pop. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
