As Scarlett1 has already said, HB isn't payable for a mortgage but you may be able to claim Income Support Mortgage Interest (ISMI) although there are lots of rules and conditions that can affect how long you have to wait before receiving any financial help, and also the amount they will actually pay.

i really dont think he would make me sell the house as the kids have always said they love it here and they have all their friends and their school is here, but on the other hand we have £60000 equity in this house and nobody is going to pass that up when they need a place of their own are they???DFW red and green memberDoing my best to lose weight and save money0 -
