Do you have a numeric keypad?
You press and hold down the ALT key
You press (then release) the 0 key (on the numeric keypad)
You press (then release) the 1 key (on the numeric keypad)
You press (then release) the 8 key (on the numeric keypad)
You press (then release) the 8 key (on the numeric keypad)
You release the ALT key
That's the sequence you use to get ¼
¼ oh, I didn't know what a numeric keypad was. I knew I had two, but the one on the right, clearly numeric, I never use as it is/was surplus to requirements.
In the words of the poet, "flippin eck". I'm now wondering if it has any other uses. Oh my lord, what a dumpling!.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
When you're entering lots of numeric data then the keypad on the right is far easier to use (IMHO) than the keys above the QWERTY keyboard. Not all keyboards have a separate numeric keypad though, especially on laptops. (Sometimes the keypad can be integrated with other keys on the keyboard - you'll see them usually as blue numbers superimposed over other keys).0
