Hello
Not sure whats happened to today its shot by. Nothing to venture out for so its PJs and some planner declutter. Currently on Masterchef which I love although the dishes rarely really appeal too much cauliflower puree and 3 drops of jus ...or gravy as I would call it. Been half heartedly doing a friday tidy but it may drift into Saturday I suspect.:o
After watching all this posh cooking Im having pizza coleslaw and a big salad for dinner. I have some volunteering work to do tonight but its online so no need to ditch the pjs
Its 3 weeks today to my hip op so I started a massive to do list to complete before then. Not sure why every cupboard in the kitchen needs clearing out and cleaning to be honest or the under stairs cupboard come to think of it but its on the list therefore must be done ...Im going to tackle a few jobs every day on top of a normal clean....if nothing else I can claim a spring clean success if this list gets done.
Jackie enjoy your baby cuddles....are you going to have biscuits again on sunday? not sure how you managed without a ginger nut
Judi Happy anniversary
HHHope you decide to stay put and rest the ankle you don't think about traffic jams on a canal but I can imagine they are a bit less stressful than the M6
tiredmum2 welcome back sounds like an amazing holiday
RRi'm intrigued (read as nosey) about your job ...what type of clients do you serve sounds very exclusive

Enjoy your Friday everyone :A0 -
Afternoon all
Made it to Chester after every sort of weather possible. Traffic ok until the last 10 miles. My cousin warned my aunt about the diet and she's been good so far. I'm usually stuffed full of cake!
Hope you're having a good Friday. Take care. Xx0 -

Hi Nels, not exclusive at all im afraid :rotfl:
I work in a day centre for adults with learning difficulties, there is a caf! (which I work in ) a garden centre a shop, etc., the adults with learning difficulties (we call them clients) have anything from Downs, ADHD Autisim etc, they range from very able, to very severely disabled, my job is to teach them life skills how to cook, clean do washing etc, so if you imagine a normal caf! and how hard that is, then add into the equation 11 clients who all want your attention at once and you have to try and work with each of them every day, as well as running a caf! !!
It is extremely rewarding (imagine someone being afraid to talk and not saying anything for two years and then them trusting you enough to start talking) but also mentally and physically exhausting, they have kept us one staff member short since Christmas as the caf! has been quiet customer wise, but we still have the 11 clients in to work with, on top of this we very often don't get a lunch break and I am on my feet constantly between 8.30 and 4.30 every single day.
I have been punched in the face, pushed over and nearly strangled ! But as I said I do enjoy the job and love working with the clients, Im not sure I know what the answer is as I really don't want to leave xx0 -
Im not sure why the forums feel the need to censor the work c a f e !0

Good evening everybody,
Not very nice here today, meant to do a bit in the garden, but the weather put paid to that.......maybe a little laziness involved, if I am honest. We also had 2 lots of visitors, so the day passed fairly quickly.
Ruby....glad to hear that the tests have shown nothing wrong. In my very humble opinion the problem is linked to your 7 day work stints.....in a stressful job ( no matter how enjoyable) long shifts cannot be helpful.
Hester.....I hope that your ankle mends soon and that the traffic jam is unblocked.
Happy anniversary Judi and Grump.
Csarina....so jealous of your obvious success with orchids......I seem to murder them at a rate of knots.....the only one which has lasted is a wild one which appeared in the middle of our top lawn a few years ago, OH dug it up and we potted it and left it outside and it comes back every year.
Nelski.....I love Masterchef, although do find some of the combinations often seem a little strange.
Holly.....thinking of you.
Enjoy Easter.

Good evening everyone, was forecast to rain after 4pm and they were spot on for once. OH got a cycle ride in and I managed a couple of hours slaying weeds and the rampant Alpine strawberries, the ground is so disgustingly wet I could only dabble from the lawn edge, but baby steps....
Judi happy anniversary. Hugs and spoons to all that need them have a happy Easter. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Evening all
Well what wet and horrid day! Field is a lake; mares are peed off and we trialled a round bale of haylage. Just like a giant swiss roll .
Hugs and spoons to those in need
