Been a victim of ID Fraud

So somone tried to open up 2 credit card applications in my name. Luckily LLoyds bank flagged them up as possibly fraudulent and nothing was processed.
I checked my Noddle and Checkmyfile accounts and they have listed an "enquiry search" on their files from RBS Lloyds.
Now Lloyds have informed me and will confirm in writing that they will investigate this and will add me to the CIFAS register and inform the Police and all 3 credit reference agencies. But they said it could take upto 60 days.
1)Now should I try speed this along by contacting Experian, Equifax, Callcredit and inform them that this last entry was fraudulent and needs to be expunged?
2) How long does CIFAS take to inform the CRA's?
3) I have a noddle and Checkmyfile account so should I also get an Experian account so I can check my records at the 3 CRAs?
4) What else should I do?

Contact the police / action fraud and report it with them aswell (get some sort of crime number).0 -
I wouldn't rely on any big company promising to do anything. Lloyds themselves promised me something and it took 2 follow up phone calls to make it happen.
Try and stay on top of things, don't wait for them to call you back- you call them to ask whats happening.Don't spend time saving less money than you could earn in that time on minimum wage...:laugh:0 -

Well I tried Action Fraud. I tried calling them first but they were busy so tried to report it online but none of the options applied to me and when I did select the closest it said it was the responsibility of the Bank to report to the Police and not me as an individual. I would rather not complete a report that they then say was knowingly incorrect.
Online chat is useless.0 -
I'm sorry but I don't believe that you have been a victim of ID fraud at all.
Nothing that you have written above indicates that two credit card applications have been made in your name.
You say that you have Noddle and Checkmyfile accounts and they have listed an "enquiry search" on their files from RBS Lloyds. Who are RBS Lloyds? I have heard of RBS and I have heard of Lloyds, but RBS Lloyds. Do you mean there were two 'enquiry searches', one from RBS and one from Lloyds?
An enquiry search is a soft search which is visible only to yourself. It does not need to be removed as nobody but yourself can see it. If an application had actually been made it would be showing as an application search, a hard search.
Soft searches of this kind are nothing to worry about. They could come about as a result of your having used an eligibility checker, in connection with an insurance renewal or several other similar reasons. For example, last year I saw such a search on my credit files from Lexus Nexus. I had never heard of them. Further investigation revealed that this search was in relation to the renewal of a motor insurance policy of a family member on which I am a named driver. Could these 'enquiry' searches be something similar?
Regarding what Lloyds allegedly told you, it is all very strange. If something had already been flagged up as fraudulent, then they would not have discussed it with you as they would have no way of knowing if you were the real Mr Bigpapa or the fraudster. Lloyds will certainly not be informing the police. If they told you that you are being added to the CIFAS register don't imagine they are instigating some sort of protective registration on your behalf. If they are going to add you to the CIFAS register it is because they suspect that YOU have committed fraud.
Finally, if you still believe that somebody has been applying for credit cards in your name, then how did they obtain all the details necessary? Also, how did they intend to get their hands on the physical cards?0 -
Check all 3 CRA, as call credit don't seem to distinguish between soft and hard searches, so you may be worrying over nothing.0

And there ends the case for the prosecution. :rotfl:0 -

Some clarification.
It was an enquiry search by Bank of Scotland Lloyds.
There were 2 applications made. One was abandoned and another was made and accepted but the account was flagged and closed within 24 hours.
The exact events are as follows -
I received a text message late on tuesday evening saying Mr Bigpappa your login details at lloyds have been changed.
(I currently have a credit card with Halifax)
I called them the next day and they put me through to the fraud dept after I told them I don't have a lloyds account or card. They informed me that 2 applications had been made in my name - one was abandoned and one was completed and accepted but then stopped within 24 hours.
Lloyds said they would inform the Credit Reference Agencies, Police and put me on CIFAS category 2 - victim of ID Fraud.
So they could confirm I am the real Mr BigPappa using details from my Halifax Credit card account.
I definitely know that I did not create 2 card applications.
Also would I be able to ask them for these applications so I can work out what data they know about me?0 -
Check all 3 CRA, as call credit don't seem to distinguish between soft and hard searches, so you may be worrying over nothing.
CHeckmyfile uses equifax data and it shows the same enquiry search Noddle has shown.
I have asked for my Experian credit report and will then check that.
After Ben8282 response I am feeling more confused than before.0
