Rosyred, the Alabama rot thing is a worry isn't it? DD walks Ziggypup in Epping Forest and there have been over 20 cases there, we're being careful to wash her feet after walks because it s so wet and muddy at the moment.

Hester, I hope your ankle gets better soon.

Just seen John Warboys is being kept in prison, thank goodness for that.

We have to take Ziggy to the vet this afternoon. She's had an ear infection and we need to know if it's cleared up. DSiL took her to a vet who didn't look in her ear because he was scared. I was gobsmacked, Ziggy is the softest thing and he muzzled her as well, he must have had a really bad experience at one time. Anyway we're going to our old vet who still have us on their books even though our last dog died nearly 4 years ago

I have that with Youngests bed sheet. To get it to fit the top and bottom of the mattress i have to bend the mattress to meet it. By the time Youngest uses it, the weight of the bed has stretched the sheet enough to allow the mattress to lie flat.

Will try that when I next use it, thanks! Perhaps the boil wash it had didn't help though it is 100% cotton.

My student didn't appear on th VC so I had more time to do nothing with.

There was a very short hailstorm shower and now got bright sunshine again.

Camelot if we go to the cinema, we always go to an afternoon showing these days. I simply don't have sufficient spoons to cope with evenings out any more.

Gers sorry if this is daft, but you weren't trying to put the sheet on the wrong way round were you? As in at a 90 degree angle to what it should be? I've done this before, and of course the bed is just that bit longer than it is wide.

Snoozer (((HUGS))) I don't normally comment on things to do with reproduction because what I know about it would fit on the back of a postage stamp and still leave room for an entire Book of Shadows.

I have dogs!! Two delightful Cavapoos; though you wouldn't believe they were the same type as Indi (the pup) is at least twice the size of Buddy. We've been for soggy walkies; Mr LW is going to have to help with walks, as trying to cope with both dogs and a mobility buggy would be at best difficult. He'll just have to put his Big Boy Pants on and put up with getting wet. ;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Judi and AOD, CHS has a mantra, ' if it ain't fried, it ain't food'.

Nelski would it be worth trying Otex ear drops for your mum, you can buy them over the counter.

I did think of that! :rotfl: No, it mostly fits, seems to be about three inches too small (who said size doesn't matter?) - I'll try Judi's trick next time I change the sheets.

I'm not really fond of dogs but living in this rural farming area it seems that almost everyone has at least one. Of those, my favourites are a very old black Lab and a not too old Sprocker.

The farmer's wife once brought in her outdoor sheep dog into my house and it pe*d against my leather sofa. It got a wipe down and was fine. My family always had a cat, here I have too much lovely wildlife outside to have one. I enjoy the birds and animals that come into my back garden too much to add in a cat.

    Hello all,
Didn't sleep well last night (what's new there ) because Mr Fix It was snoring . He sounded like a cross between an out of tune bagpipe and a donald duck impersonator . One of us will be sleeping somewhere else tonight if it happens again !
Anyway we went to town this morning to the haberdashers for some material, then on went to Al*is for the weekly top up. It was crazy, all the tills were open and most people had full trollies, it seemed like Xmas all over again. Mr Fix It was his usual distracted self in there, I had to ask him 3 times to get his ham . ( I don't eat it ). He does have his good points though, as he has made a curry with the leftover lamb, which is in the slow cooker and we'll be having that with rice for tea :D.
This afternoon I'm going to look for some of my old books as DGS has found the merits of the Beano comic. I'm sure I have similar books from the 60's, Topper, Beryl the Peril etc hiding at the back of a cupboard. My plan is to clean out my baking cupboard too, as someone has left it in a mess. That's me told then :rotfl:.
RedRuby I think you and your GP have done the right thing.
TA fingers crossed for your x ray today. You're right that we can't afford to be ill too.
ScarlettR Hope your new GC makes an entry soon. I will pop back later for news.

I did comment on your post yesterday, but I don't have any experience of PCOS.
Hugs to everyone who is experiencing stressful times at present, either through illness or worry etc.
    Take care all.
Nelski Mr Fix It suffers with eczema of the inner ear and he uses " Ear calm"
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently

:rotfl::rotfl:I dread to think what the vet would have made of looking in Lylas ears....her head is as big as mine :D Hope her ear clears up soon.

Rosyred, Ziggy is a small cockapoo - she weighs less than 9kg and although I know some small dogs can be vicious she is not. She doesn't bark at anyone, shows no interest if people knock on the door and is generally the friendliest dog you can imagine (unless you are a cat in the garden, then she barks). Lyla could probably swallow her in two bites, lol.

Lamewolf, it's amazing the variety of poodle crosses there are, isn't it. DD wanted a very poodly cockapoo so she got one that is three quarters miniature poodle but I have seen some that could be taken as cocker spaniels.

Must admit Grump has been doing his own breakfast. Of course i dont mind doing it on a weekend because both men have worked hard all week and deserved to be waited on a little but i made it plain when Grump finished work that if he wanted a full cooked breakfast whilst he was off work, then he would be the one who cooks it.

Motor seems ok, hubbys bank account is £179 the poorer but he is happy with whats been done. He's still wittering on about buying a new one when the new model is released sometime this year but ive told him he cant have a new one cause he hasnt spent enough on this one yet... for those who dont know, his usual habit is to buy a motor, fit a tow bar, new tyres, privacy windows, blahblahblah then decide to change it.

Ive given up trying to feed Youngest with what we eat. It always ends up in the bin cause he hates mash, meat and fish and Grump will only eat mash, meat and fish... So until Grump goes back to work i will be cooking 2 separate meals on an evening. Its a pain in the rear end but there you go...

Quiet night in tonight watching stuff ive missed since we went away. I have both episodes of Casualty and Holby to watch. Thats my night sorted. I'll leave Grump to his Alaskan 'off grid' rubbish.

    Have a good evening all.
