    Had a phone call from Sky today. Surprise Surprise, they can't find a recording of the phone call in which I agreed to pay the £13.50 extra if I didn't have Sky TV. In the circumstances ,they were prepared to accept my word that I didn't agree to this! However, the terms and conditions state that, if I don't have Sky TV, they would not be able to continue with the broadband and that would also end on July 20th! BUT, I could keep the phone line. What they could offer me was a 12 month contract at £28.95 for phone and broadband. Looking round at the available deals and bearing in mind that we stream to two TVs and a PC so need a decent download speed, I can't find a deal that give me what I need at a much lesser price. As I had 12 months to go on the old broadband contract anyway, it will now cost me £4 a month extra but end at the same time as the old contract. I've got a 30 day cancellation period so will keep looking.

    That's £10 more per month than the standard ASDL price with many broadband companies!. Have you looked at the link I posted before where you can get it for much much cheaper:

    If it's ASDL then any provider will offer the same speed. You can even get fibre broadband which is much faster for alot less than what you would paying sky.

    I presumed it was fibre at that price but you're right, they're on ADSL.

    @mikemoreton

    Sky themselves are presently offering ADSL at £18.00 a month with the debits & credits making it an equivalent £13.42 a month. There's a few deals from other suppliers for £17 or £18 a month (without such a big credit).

    On fibre there's various deals starting at a straight £20 a month for up to 38Mbps.

    Don't accept that deal, chase it up and not just with the CS phone number.

    Edit:

    I just noticed this bit:
    I can't find a deal that give me what I need at a much lesser price.

    I'm sorry but I have to ask just what it is you're looking at?
