For the sake of around £30, the likely cost of quitting the O2 contract, I would just ask for the PAC and switch. It's not worth messing around for that amount.

BTW, have you checked the coverage on Three in locations where you might need it (back room of pub/club, supermarket, etc.)?

I am with Three and rather surprisingly at locations where I frequent, the coverage is generally better than Vodafone or O2, but it clearly depends on where you are.

Yep I get indoor and outdoor 4G coverage with 02 and Three Mobile.

I don't mind sticking with 02 until August so I'm not essentially paying for two contracts and only getting use out of one for the next 5 months, but it was more when in August i.e. 16th August as my 02 contract expires on 16th September and then goes to out of contract.

    Thank you.

If your minimum contract with 02 lasts until 16th september, phone up and request your PAC from them on 17th August, giving them the 30 day notice to end your contract. But instead of waiting until a few days before the 16th Sep, use your PAC and sign up with Three on the 1st of September so that its sorted before you leave. Does that sound right, I think that's how it should be done?

My OP was a very descriptive post. Why are you even posting here if you have an issue? If you can't provide any help or something constructive then don't bother.

And btw, most people only have one phone. Most people would say if they had two or more. The fact that I said switch in my OP shows that I have one phone....

I don't but you obviously do.

I did and you chose to respond negatively.

I neither assume people belong to "most", they would say if they do or that what you actually said includes any such assumptions.

I also don't assume this forum is only hear to guide sheep.

Please show me where I have responded negatively. It's you that has an attitude, not me.

I'm not asking what is better value. I'm asking when the best time is to ask 02 for my PAC code and switch to Three Mobile. I only have one phone so even if I took out a new contact with Three mobile and kept my one with 02 going until September then I wouldn't get the benefit of one or the other still anyway? I can only use one at a time.

That was your first response; after posting because no-one had answered your original post. I'd say that was pretty hostile and sarcastic. But, then, it's not me who's wound up by a genuine reply. I would point out that your confirmation of what you were asking is still a "how long is a piece of string" question. What is "best" depends on all sorts of things - including the ones I addressed to your disgruntlement.

If you think that response was hostile and sarcastic, when it was simply stating a fact that I wasn't asking for value advice but timing advice, then I think you need to get yourself an Oxford dictionary and look up their definitions. A few others above understood what I was saying perfectly well and gave me good advice. Not my fault that you seem to have an attitude because you misjudged and misinterpreted at the start.
