TalkTalk or NowTV Fibre

Hello,
Currently on BT Infinity 2 76mb achieving 70mb. Out of contract and BT will not offer another 12month contract.
Options down to NowTV Super Fibre 76mb or TalkTalk 76mb or Plusnet Fibre Extra. Although I am reading of bad reports of PN with throttling speeds due to moving their shared infrastructure to their own.
So either between Now BB or TT. I know for a fact my router will guaranteed to work on TT as they allow it but Now BB is a grey area.
Only setting apart is TT I can see how I am doing with 38mb and if feel it's too slow I can easily add the speed boost. But seeing a lot of bad stuff about them, is it TT or down to Openreach due to faulty lines etc or cheap supplied routers which I'll not be using.
Thanks.

I cannot comment of TalkTalk's fibre as I had broadband but I can say is I CAN'T WAIT TO LEAVE THEM!!!! Their broadband is super slow, intermittent and their customer service is appalling - you need the patience of a saint. I was messed about and lied to.
Maybe someone can comment on TalkTalk's fibre.0 -
Technically they all use the same BT Openreach infrastructure,, but how they manage their allocation seems to be very different.
Aside from cheap resellers taking on more customers than they've reserved bandwidth for (and traffic shaping to get round it), they can be extremely reluctant to call an Openreach engineer for you if there!!!8217;s a problem. That!!!8217;s because they have to pay for the engineer's visit if there!!!8217;s a line fault.
While all ISPs should just get on with fixing your line and delivering the internet you paid for, clearly some would prefer to just Richard you about until you leave. There isn!!!8217;t any profit in spending £200 on a customer who will only stay for a year, and companies like TalkTalk for example, expect a very high churn rate.
I found Sky to be excellent when I had problems on my line and always had an engineer round within a day or two.0 -
Arklight that didn't really answer my question I'm afraid.
Although NowTV is owned by Sky doesn't mean you will get the same level of customer service.
Is there any good points to TalkTalk other than value. Whether connection problems really do exist as some people say or whether that is down to their individual lines and cheap routers.
Thanks.0 -
I was away for a couple of days at the beginning of the month. I was in reception and heard two staff talking and one of them was saying about the lack of connection she was having with TalkTalk. I did think at the time that I am over a hundred miles away and it's still no different for TalkTalk customers here.0

I'd go with NowTV as they are part of Sky.
Sky's BB customer service is a world better than TalkTalk0 -

Luckily I was out of contract and could leave. The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0 -
TT are cheap and great when it's working. Our fibre speed is as advertised. However if something goes wrong as mine has they are worse than useless. Muppets on first line support working from a script. AVOID0

Most of TT customer service is off-shore and was a nightmare when I was with them. They never did what they said they'd do. I'd go with Now TV if I were you.0

Gone with TalkTalk in the end - deal was hard to ignore - fibre 76mb for £25 per month 12 month contract with c/b via top cashback.
TT are signed up to Ofcom code of conduct so if speed falls below my minimum guaranteed I can ensure TT will resolve or walk away.
Established that TT 'Super' routers are next to useless, so will invest in a TP Link VR900 or Netgear D7000 for equipment.
