Electric Chain Saw on Pole

Unlike standard handheld chainsaws, the pole saws don't have any form of emergency kickback chain brake. That isn't a problem when the saw is on the end of a six foot pole, but it could be if you are holding it in your hand.0

My Stihl has a 6 amp/hr battery which gives 45mins use, in theory.
In practice, because I'm using it on and off, it does all the time I'm likely to need before lunch, or before knocking-off.0 -
I use 4 amp-hour batteries that each take 30 minutes or so to charge which meant that even with two pairs of batteries, I was running out of juice and having to wait for the charger to catch up. Two chargers means no waiting around.0

I bought that exact one from screwfix 3 years ago.
We have lleylandi planted by previous owner and every year it costs me £800 to get them trimmed and removed.
Bought this for £50 plus spare chain and oil as well as a movable platform off ebay for £150 and 3 years on I am over 2k better off.
They are excellent pieces of kit. The pole can be short or long and is seconds work to adjust but cant be used without the pole.
Only thing to be wary of is that when you operate the pole on full extension it can be a bit of counterweight as the saw end is all at the end of a long pole.
The chain needs tensioning quite a lot but this is seconds work with an allen key.
For our garden its been brilliant and a lot less hassle than petrol stuff I have used before.0 -
Thanks for all the comments. I bought the Screwfix one for £50.
Screwfix insisted it was self lubricating so no oil needed, so 2nd a trip back was required when I found out it might be self lubricating but it still required lubrication!0 -

Why have you more or less quoted ukjoel's post almost word for word? Are you trying to up your post count, by any chance?
edit: Your only other post is also just quoting somebody's text...0
