no its not they are encrypted by 256aes encryption which even a nation state could not decrypt.
that said, someone could run a dictionary based brute force attack on the file so make sure your password is reasonably long and not composed of words (single or strung together)0 -
...oh, and make sure you save it in.docx or .xlsx format (ie not .doc or .xls)0

KeePass is a good password manager. It allows you to copy and paste the password from the manager to the website which is handy when you need to use a strong passsword like Pas$w0rd3!0

I use Keychain on MacOS High Sierra and iOS which takes care of usernames and passwords and other information such as 3rd stage authentication in Notes which is encrypted and locked.
The problem with password managers is 3rd stage authentication such as a word or number. Both MacOS and iOS saves this as an extra entry for the web site with the page ref as the username which I don't like because it leads to confusion. I have heard that 1Password can save 3rd stage authentication but I haven't tried it.0 -

Sorry, but if I told you I'd have to...0 -
I am old school. Pen, paper, safe.
A word to the wise. Which ever method you use, make sure a close family member knows how to access the list.
20 accounts how many could your children name and find if the worst happened ?0 -
My method requires a good memory and I'll come unstuck one day if I develop dementia gradually. So not perfect.
All my many passwords use combinations of at least 2 unrelated codes.
I have an uncanny memory for various postcodes, telephone numbers and car registration numbers going back to the 1960s. I could lose one or more of my many identical cards which list only all clues to all passwords and it wouldn't matter. I keep copies of the card in various locations and vehicles to guard against fire etc.
The down side is that when I die, non of my family will have more than a slim chance of gaining access to this forum or anywhere else via passwords. Even use or not of capitals is included in the clue.Never trust a financial institution.
