Paid after exiting carpark, will i be fined?

Hello everyone
Looking for some advice. Today I went to St Peters retail park in Mansfield. It wasn't until I was exiting the car park that I realised you have to pay after 45 minutes. On a Sunday it is just £1 for 24 hours. I was at the car park around one hour. I exited the car park, pulled over, and proceeded to pay using the text service stated on their website. I am now worrying I will be fined as technically I had no ticket when I exited the carpark. However I did pay using my phone when I exited fir 24 hours parking. Do you think the fines are issued automatically upon exiting? Or the end of the day and therefore my car registration is registered? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Who by? Council or private parking company (if so, which one)?

Parking Eye I'm afraid, I think you'll just have to wait and see what comes in the post, but it won't be a fine:

Horrible place to visit, due to that infestation and nuisance threatening people's wallets.

IMHO consumers should boycott ParkingEye car parks. I do, and so do many other regulars here. Absolute threat on consumers.

How does anyone, let alone some of the intellectually challenged posters who appear here regularly, make any sense of a notice like that, with all of its small print.

  • I know. I have never noticed the signs before. So seeing as I didn't get a ticket on entry, no barrier, I had to guess how long I thought I had been parked. Which made me guess an hour so technically paying fir 15 minutes.

You might not get a PCN; come back and reply here if you do (don't PAY the thing!).

there are no laws for private car parks

Sir Greg Knight currently has an act going through parliament that is expected to become law by the end of this year

the last law that you may be thinking about was POFA in 2012 , which can make a keeper liable if the parking company follow that law

yes these PCN s are generated automatically , by comparing ANPR camera pictures at entry and exit against a record of the ticket machine info

Well, no they haven't, no law change recently. You are in the right place to find out the truth.

Stick around, read the NEWBIES thread.

Watch the Parliamentary debate from February!!
