Which Hammer Drill is Perfect?

Options
Extremely sorry for the confusing question. My hubby is out for working purpose and in that meantime I made a beautiful wall art myself. Now the problem is I have so many hammer drill options to drive screws into plaster. But I am not sure which one is great for this job. I have to do it standing on a ladder. So it's really risky for me to use a heavy hammer drill, right? Can anyone suggest me the right one. Cordless or Corded??

how heavy is the wall art ?
could a pin & hook hold it (photo frame hook)
if too heavy then a battery hammer drill, you will need a plastic raw plug and screw,
length & size wise of raw plug/screw depends on how heavy the art work is

A photo frame hook will hold that lightweight wall art. I found a battery hammer drill but it was not working. Is there any other option for that?

Why do I smell a meaty tinned product being slowly opened?

    If not, buy a Bosch.....

Suspecting the same as above I suggest a Birmingham Screwdriver*. The bigger the better.

  • Dear Ruth, I think you should know the basic of using any power tools before doing the job. I think you should go for the lightweight cordless hammer drill for this job. I hope I have helped you.

... ah, so a "wood working professional" ( his own bio description) newbie posts a really really informative reply to someone married to a wood working professional...... I wonder if they are related by marriage, or preferred meaty -sandwich-filling!

Robert&Ruth... which lightweight cordless hammer drill would you [STRIKE]sell[/STRIKE] recommend? :D:D:D

Before you start drilling check for pipes and live wires. Go to your better half's tool box and find his "Pipe and Live Wire Detector".
