i too had the same thing happen at t&g in manchester, i had a bob and it was longer on one side than the other, but at the back and i couldn't see it and i noticed when my sister pointed it out.
i went back the next day they fixed it for free but wanted me to make an appointment to have it done as it was a busy saturday. i insisted that they rectified it there and then or refund me half my money so i could get someone else to fix it.
i would give the salon a chance to fix it and if you're still not happy ask for half your money back to go somewhere else

Well eventually a lady that claimed to be a manager from another branch called & has offered to fix it. The appointment is for next Monday. She was quite abrupt & was acting like she was doing me a HUGE favour by doing it. She also got all of my details wrong

The first appointment she managed to get me was for next Monday. I had to get my friend to fix it until I can have said appointment as my job is client facing & it's made me look & feel stupid, having such a bad cut. The woman on the phone was rude when I told her that I had to get the longer bits cut out but did she really expect me to walk around with a bad haircut for another week just because she didn't have any other appointments.

3 or 4 girls here at work have told me that they have had bad cuts there & no longer go there because of this. After Monday I am never patronising their shops again! I hate having my haircut anyway, am so upset that this has become such an messy & stupid situation.

I've had my hair cut, restyled and coloured at Toni & Guy - 3 times actually. I was thrilled with the consultation & cut (by the top man there) and the colourist was fine too.

The last time I was in there a woman came in with VERY long, absolutely straight hair and was having a trim. She kept saying she just wanted the ends trimming and seemed quite chatty. The guy doing it spent ages and was very attentive. When he showed her how the back looked she just burst out crying! I looked & looked and could NOT see anything wrong but she kept insisting that he had not cut it straight and had ruined her hair. If he cut an inch off that was top whack and it WAS straight.

She said she wasn't paying and just walked right out!
  • asea i hope you get this problem sorted , dont let this bad experience make you not going to a hairdresser again. Go to a local non branded salon they are generally better .

I used to go to Sean Hanna in Jubilee Place - they were fab. ;)

I've never stepped foot in a T&G salon - seen too many dodgy haircuts on their customers!

It's a shame you're not male and can't just buy a pair of clippers. Suppose you could go for that look if you really wanted :)

There's something you can buy called comb n' cut by wahl which sort of neatens up your hair. As opposed to normal clippers it only cuts a few hairs at a time so you can use it with long styles. I guess it's ideal if you have thick hair. The DVD included with it explains it better than me.

Well I went to fix the damage yesterday. The lady was very nice & seemed a bit embarrassed/horrified at the cut. Even though my friend had evened it all out it was still a pretty poor cut & very uneven & wedge like from behind. In fact it was even worse than I had thought!!!

Anyway, am happy with my fixed cut & despite them fixing my hair, I am still going to find a smaller, more personal salon from now on I think. All in all, though a good result & nobody at work is calling me Adam from Adam & the Ants anymore!

    Thanks everyone!
