Tesco online - is it worth it?

I'm asking this question because when I'm instore I can easily see bogof offers and reduced items but when shopping online will they prompt you that there is an offer on the item you add to your basket? or an offer on a different brand of that item? I usually get good offers on ice cream esp haagen dasz when shopping instore so I'm a bit wary that so far my online shopping hasn't produced a single offer.
The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.

You are right about reduced items etc but online shopping tends to be more cost effective (for me anyway) cos there is no impulse buys. Guess it depends how disiplined you are.0

Tesco has changed their site recently and they do show you all the special offers, either before you start, on a 'offers page' or as you are choosing your purchases...worth taking a look, particularly if you have a money off code from here.0 -
If I shop online I can stick to a pre-defined list of what I actually need or want. I don't end up picking things up because I think I need them, or I fancy giving the particular item a try.
As far as the special offers go, there is a special offer section that you can look through (and is generally where I start when I shop online at Tesco), but if you search for a product, and there happens to be an offer on it will tell you on the screen. However, if you search for Heniz beans and there is an offer on a competing brand it won't tell you.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

I find that when I shop online I see more special offers than I do instore. They're not always labelled instore (not in my local anyway)
As already mentioned, browse through the departments too as not all special offers are mentioned under the "special offer section", just the best offers.
Great for budgeting and can easily write in subsitions during checkout. Worth a go, especially if you use a voucher from the tesco thread in the vouchers board.0 -
For the last few months our weekly shopping bill has HALVED by using tesco codes and just buying what we need.Used to be around £80 a week, now we eat comfortably for £40.Plus no hassle of trying to park and mingling with the other lovely shoppers.

For me its worth it
I have 2 clubcard accounts.
I alternate them and use the £10 or £15 codes
I have it deliverd tuesday mornings. ( cheap day only £3.99 and one with the best for availablility)
at worst tesco pay me £6 at best £11 per week to do my shopping.
Then theres the times tesco deliver too much.( i like those weeks)
i still go to tesco once every other week to check the promos and the end date.
I did work for them as a manager for 15 years, so i am just putting what i learnt over that time to good use.:o)0 -

I shopped with Tesco online for the 1st time last week and I found it really good. I got lots of offers anf then I used a discount code from this site.In total I saved £25 and the shopping I bought should last us about 2-3 weeks.
I agree with what the other people say you don't get tempted as much to impulse buy. Although in the offers section they do have nice things like cakes so you could still *treat* yourself if you wanted.
