Shortly due for retirement so will no longer be able to get free printing
Only require black and white
Recommendations on here usually point to a mono laser printer, but do not often mention a make or model
Anyone using a SAMSUNG Xpress M2026, it appears relatively cheap
May have to crunch few numbers as it may be cheaper just to print off at the library
Any recommendations please
Thanks in anticipation

I have a Samsung Xpress mono laser, I think it is the earlier M2020 model. Mine is USB only and was £40 or £50 a while ago.
No problems at all, both with a genuine Samsung toner cartridge and 3rd party ones. I think they were highly rated by the Which? Magazine people too.0 -
For basic work the low end ones will be around £50.
pick the main brands samsung hp brother canon and read a few reviews.
even HUKD don't get a lot of printer deals.
The Easter sales have started so have look at those or wait a bit for the next sale.
I am looking for a all in one and spotted a brother a PCworld for £50.
do you want wifi and printing direct from phones?
this link should give a list in price order to give you an idea0 -
I've got an older Samsung ML2010 thats rarely used but always works when needed.
The black ink last a long time, the white has never run out.
A friend lives very close to an ink refill shop who print A4 sheets for 10p. For limited printing its cheaper than owning a printer and will be more reliable and possibly better quality than a cheap printer.0 -
This month's PC Pro magazine (May 2018, p97) rather liked the Oki C332dn colour LED printer at £94+VAT.
I know you said B&W but occasionally you might want colour!0 -
I still have my old samsung 1610 needs a good clean and new cart/drum which is <£15.
I think there is a better chance of buy once with a laser over ink.
if you want to spend a bit more for colour this popped up on HUKD as HP have some cashback models.
this is colour multifunction with a sheetfeed scanner/copier.

As with all printers research your print costs.0 -

Hoe much printing are you doing ?0

Hoe much printing are you doing
Difficult to determine, local library charge 20p per page
So my break even point for a £60 printer is 300 copies (300*0.20p = £60)
100 copies a year not far short, and then there is the convenience
Thanks

Why a laser printer rather than a cheap inkjet ? HP do a deal where you pay so much a month depending how many pages you print and I think something like 10 or 15 pages a month is free.0
-
The above HP may be an option if you won't go over 15 a month.
If you have a big month it can get expensive.
50pm is £2 but you can't go back to free.
There was a deal I missed in Jan for 3000 prints no time limit on a reasonably priced HP printer.
Convenient is worth a few £ a year.0
