Am on my 3rd Bosch, freestanding just tucked in under counter run next to sink, between units. Isn't there something different with their design about how the steam is released? What i would prefer, don't have on current model, is an led display to tell me where the machine is in the washing cycle, useful if I want to pop in an extra item after it has started.0

It was the LED display which gave me no end of problems, then the pump broke."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Guys, saying buy a Bosch or Miele is no good, some Bosch have lesss than stellar reviews, some take forever or gave annoying layouts and some cost a bomb. As it!!!8217;s likely new, who!!!8217;s bought one in past 18 months, what!!!8217;s the model number and why is it good?0

I have a Bosch SMS58M42GB, it replaced a 25 year-old Hotpoint. On the "eco" programme it doesn't wash as well as the Hotpoint (the Hotpoint only had rinse, wash & long wash) & takes about 3½ hours. On another programme it washes better but to be honest the "eco" one is good enough & you soon learn what not to put where to get good results. It's almost silent in operation. The disappointment is the "Made in Spain" sticker, when I worked in the industry that was not a good sign.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I think Bosch has won the day, anyone got a Bosch SMS46MI00G, looks as if this will be the one I go for
Thanks for all replies0 -
My current Bosch slimline is 17 years old, still going strong. We had a spare dishwasher for a number of years waiting for the current one to go wrong. Gave it away in the end about 5 years ago as the current one showed no signs of giving up the ghost.Make £2025 in 2025

Many thanks to all who replied
Evenentually went for a Bosch SMS46MI00G, had it a few days and very pleased with the machine. So quiet in operation we had to keep looking at the digital display to see if it was working. Working our way through the various programs to see which one best suits our requirements.
Top marks to John Lewis for prompt delivery, updates to the delivery time and the politeness of the two people who delivered0 -
Our Baumatic dishwasher, bought early 2016 works faultlessley
Whereas our Bosh washing machine about at the same time had to be repaired under warranty within 1 month :-(0
