I guess the door doesn`t matter much in Cambridge, just the postcode? Going to be fun if interest rates get forced up, I am still betting on a EZ break up for real loss of control on rates.0 -

Property is expensive in Cambridge (and Oxford) because:
-the universities are highly prestigious, world renowned institutions providing many well paid research jobs (especially in Life Sciences at Cambridge), as well as all the other jobs associated with thriving universities (admin, catering, transport, sports, the many spin-off companies such as printing etc).
-the universities own huge amounts of land in and around their respective towns, and are able to block any development. Apparently the reason Cambridge station is so far from the town centre was because the dons didn't want riff-raff from this new fangled steam thingy coming too near their nice quiet quads.
So for the "bubble" to pop, the universities have to plummet down the global rankings to be on a par with ex-polys desperate to fill their Spice Girls Studies courses, or agree for loads of high density pleb housing to be built on their historic land. Do you genuinely think either of these are likely? They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
I'm selling the South East and have definately seen a big cooling off in the market. We found a place and wanted to offer, but we've had no offers on our sale. We've dropped the price 10% this week, we've had 1 new enquiry so far. If I have to drop it another 10% I'll be selling for less than I paid for it in 2014. I've given up looking for a new home now as I've lost hope I can actually sell my property this year. I can't even entertain let-to-buy because the stamp duty wipes out too much of my deposit. It's a great time to be a first time buyer right now, you could wait it out for prices to drop or haggle desperate sellers down. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hold up guys, we've got an oracle over here. The odds for both were 50%, so well done I guess? Honestly I report every single one of your posts as I think it'll do you good to get off this website and enjoy life a little bit.0 -

Really, your post count shows 9 posts? TBH if you are reporting every single one of another posters posts maybe you need to think about taking your own advice0
