PC restart time just over a minute.

Hi my pc with xp on it will shutdown and restart in one minute 10 secs. I'm fairly happy with this but can anyone tell me if theres anything to make this time reduce farther. The pc is linked to a 2nd by a cable to share internet. Tia.

I got mine (first generation of intel dual core chip...can't remember what speed, 1gb ram) to about 45 seconds with a completely clean install. A few months on though, it's slowed down, and theres nothing additional running on startup, in the background, ran a defrag, etc.

Windows does just seem to slow down over time.
A wipe and reload would *probably* speed it up. But who can be bothered with that to save 20 seconds once-a-day? I certainly couldn't.
