Which fibre broadband should I get?

I'm looking to change providers. Currently with TalkTalk, I've had enough to their terrible customer service, poor connection and speeds and over pricing.
I use the internet for various things but the biggest thing is watching Now TV. Would up to 38mbps fibre broadband be suitable for this?

Thanks!

p.s. who are you with and would you recommend your fibre broadband provider?

    Thanks!

    Totally! More than enough.

I have Virgin with no other services. 100mb £30pm and get about 105mbps when tested.

I would love to have Virgin fibre (I've heard great things about them) but I don't get it in my area :(

You want a better connection, better speed and better customer service all at a lower cost?

I am on my second spell with Plusnet FTTC after a horrible year with Sky. I had a hiccup at first, but was more than happy with Plusnet's reaction in dealing with it.

They were not able to provide the speeds that they promised (in writing) for my rural location. They offered a release from contract without penalty, or a stonking reduction in the monthly cost. It was obvious that no other supplier would be able to better the speeds, so I took the reduced offer. I don't take their TV service, as I have Freesat from the previous Sky dish.

But I get a minimum of 11 Mbps Download and this allows me to run Freesat and several devices, including this ethernet - cabled desktop, WiFi for a laptop, tablets and 2 phones. Even that download speed would be enough to give me their TV service, should I want it. I also like their website and customer service: phone calls are also dealt with by a clear, friendly Yorkshire accent and their Techs know what they are talking about.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

I would recommend Plusnet FTTC if you want cheap and cheerful.

Their customer service and tech support is decent (after the long call wait time). I've had a much better experience with Plusnet - than any other provider I've been with e.g. BT or TalkTalk.

Sky Fibre was good - but they are a little pricier and the service/speed is no different, to reflect the extra cost either..
  • I went with Sky. They offered a good deal with TV package.
