I was comparing the position of the inbuilt satnav alone, not commenting on the other displays.
Yes, exactly my point. You are hung-up on one minor detail, and ignoring the entire rest of the science of ergonomics.

Meanwhile, you're getting all stroppy about a relatively minor difference over which part of the windscreen's obscured by a standalone nav device (and ignoring the reality of how many do choose to drive in the process), whilst hyperbolising the "bad" VW's level-with-wheel-centreline nav screen, barely any lower than the "good" BMW's, to "between the driver's feet".

Obviously not only, Sherlock, but I still think they use their eyes - last time I checked Ray Charles' application to become a pilot was rejected.

Whilst not having a full pilots licence the sadly departed Ray Charles has flown and even landed an aircraft.

No, I was commenting on a single aspect alone. I was not commenting on the general ergonomics of the vehicles as a whole. If I say that car X handles better than car Y, it doesn't mean I am ignoring that car Y has cheaper running costs, nor that I am saying that car X is necessarily better overall: I am just commenting on one single aspect.

Yes. I know. That's what I just said.

Do you actually know what ergonomics is? It doesn't appear you do.

Keep going everyone. A few more nasty comments and SouthLondonUser will join the long list of members who have left after they realise asking a simple question on here or attempting to start a friendly debate ends in personal remarks and nit-picking.

I mean, how dare they suggest satnavs might be distracting. Tsk.

Did anybody say they might not be? No.

I think people abandoning MSE is more down to Trolls constantly posting spurious threads and comments, and previously PPR'd users returning to ignite discord.

Of the ones posted, the only one I think is far too in your face is the Merc. The others are fine. My Lupo had a sat nav built-in and I didn't find it distracting at all. It was ideal in fact. It quietened the audio to give you instructions and overall worked incredibly well.

Except for the fact that @SouthLondonUser is the only one making personal remarks and nit-picking (and I suspect making up stories about colleagues in hospital to support his nonsensical thread) I'm in full agreement with you.
