OP, do you mean you don't physically want a landline, or you don't want to pay for one because you don't make voice calls? You'll probably find you'll pay more for the privilege of not having a landline (by using for example 4G). I would just worry about total cost, and what deal you can get from an ISP. Do some online comparison, and then pick up your (mobile) phone and call them, where you can get deals that you wouldn't be able to get by just completing an online form.0

For those with an actual choice by having a Virgin cable passing their house, theres a broadband-only deal at £26/month:
www.virginmedia.com/shop/broadband/broadband-only.html
Offer closes 27th March. Introductory, 1st year only of course but may be of interest. Oddly, no mention of this being for new VM subscribers only.0 -
If you've got a solid 4G connection with unlimited data, then yes, sack the landline!0

but can i run my laptop from my mobile0

if you get a decent signal and are prepared to pay more for mobile than you do for landline.
I think the issue is one of landline + broadband + mobile can cost much more than a mobile with tethering. Landline prices are very poor value these days.
One landline broadband provider was boasting in their flyer of being cheaper than using a mobile for internet... except their arithmetic was flawed, they wanted £24.99 per month for 20 GB and that does not include any phone calls! It was Karoo, who hail from Hull and have no idea and little competition in Hull.0 -

The Huawei router has internal wi-fi turned off, feeds a small business router to do some traffic shaping to control usage with wi-fi through ubiquiti access points.
The house has FTTP from BT but unused at the moment as enjoying the simplicity of the 4G solution. No lengthy contract, negotiating deals, stupidly expensive phone line I don't want etc...
I'm sure mobile data deals will only improve over time
Cheers
but you can get fibre BB and phone, unlimited data and faster speeds for less than that......0
