Money back when laptop hasn't lasted even a year

Hi,

I brought a laptop with Ebuyer last June but recently it developed a fault.

Ebuyer said the warrenty is with Lenovo because it's over 30 days. However I thought in the uk there are laws governing products we buy from online retailers to be suitable quality.

To have it develop a fault after just a few months of very light use is unacceptable for me.

I have contacted Lenovo regarding the repair but the base warrenty has expired. Even though I brough it last June their system says it has expired. I am trying to get them to update it's warrenty status. Despite receiving an email on wednesday them saying it will be updated in the next 48 hours, I have yet to see it has been updated on their system.

I would like to know what my options are?
Ideally I want ebuyer to refund me the 600 quid so I can buy a newer model.

You would be better off posting on the Consumer Rights board.

My journey with a Moto mobile handset (same company) may be of interest.

Not true , but the contract is with ebuyer and it is their problem. Don't let ebuyer fob you off with Lenovo and Warranty . Get this moved to the Consumer Rights board

After nine months of usage ebuyer will at best offer a partial refund. It's what they do.

You should have sorted this out when you bought it - sorry for stating the obvious. I'd talk nicely to Lenovo - say you've raised the issue on MSE and good service from them will be brownie points for them blah, blah, blah (assuming they're better than Ebuyer...)

    PS. what's the problem?
