    Morning all,
Belated congratulations to Penny Grabber. And to all those marathon runners, Wow, what an achievement.

I have a day off so have gone through receipts from last fortnight and updated my totals for groceries and cat needs. I have been more extravagant whilst DS3 was here, and we did have a couple of takeaways (which comes out of the treats budget). I have counted up all potential meals in the freezer and it comes to 11, mainly left over portions or YS bargains which I have frozen. The plan is to eat my way through these before he gets back for the summer vac and then re-stock, so the next few weeks shopping should be fresh fruit and veg, bread and milk and any irresistible YS bargains. I have got a few days to the end of the month, then will hop over to the May thread.

Good luck everyone, let's hope we get some warmer weather back soon.

£15.35 in Lidl, had to return as wanted some of the food sealer bags on special buy this week, picked up some baking potatoes and 2 reduced duck breasts, no reduction made so have to return again to claim my £1.50 ish, not rushing kept pack sleeve and receipt.
Do I need it or just want it.

did my final shop of the month, was £42.13, quite a lot more than I hoped for but freezer is rammed with greek stuff for late night working.
total for the month came to £223.04, which to me seems really high but still under budget

Oh no, another one bites the dust! :(

I complained to MSE when I found it had vanished and the Yet More Sneaky Ways thread was reinstated. They were actually very good about it; we had to exchange emails a couple of times because the original link they sent me to test wasn’t to Yet More Sneaky Ways to Save the Pennies.

It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it - that’s what gets results!

An "accidental" £17.22 on tea, bread and a few other bits n'bobs has left me with just over £35 to spend at tomorrow's market to see us through. I "only" need fruit, veg, cheese & possibly some fish - can I still do it?

Brilliant about the thread, Pipney-Jane, well done! I've grieved for a few vanished threads that I read but never got around to contributing to; kind of wish it didn't keep happening, but I'm very glad our mods are on the ball & protecting us from unwanted spam!

  • Good morning everyone
well Highland Fling is declaring at £156. Just under target this month. I should not need to buy anything now until May but I have a whole £4 left just in case those famous last words come back to bite me.

  • A couple more 'mini' spends of just under £15. I have updated sig. My month doesn't end 'till Monday, but I don't have time to go shopping, so am gong to declare at £41.27. Leftover monies will go into my 'bulk fund'. Busted the 'alcohol budget' - oh well. According to the scales I have lost 5lb, but will wait until Monday to update that, as I may be partying this w/e. See you in May everyone.

£34 spent at the market this morning, and 50p yet to go on beansprouts, which I forgot to sow... I'll declare for April as soon as that's added; half of the cheese, fruit & veg that I bought this morning will go on well into May - well, at least until next Friday! The fish, however, will vanish into a pie later on this afternoon. I'm working over the weekend so won't be spending any more, and Monday is payday. So I will have made it under budget, but - only just!
