OH was seriously worried about the heat, Pipney-Jane - he flakes out at about 18 degrees C just gardening at home - so he went very cautiously & finished his 3rd London marathon in a slow but steady 4hrs 44mins. That actually put him in the top half of finishers and quite high up in his age group; he's not the only one to have described conditions yesterday as "brutal". But we had a lovely weekend up there celebrating DS1's birthday & supporting our hero!

I’m really glad that your OH is ok. 4:44 is a very good time in that heat/humidity. Congratulations to him!

    - Pip

    hello all
just had a quick tot up and i'm at about £200, that leaves about £50 for my last shop of the month which i'll do tomorrow.
it's good I have that amount cos greek week starts at lidl and I want to stock up on the meatballs which were lovely, as well as leek swirlees etc
  • Payday tommorow so I will be moving over to the next month's group. I declare a total bust this month. Budget was 390. I got it very early and kind of decided I would rather not keep counting this month. I have probably finished around the 550-600 mark. Oops. Caravan and birthday teas didn't help. Ah well. I'll count properly next month. On the plus side I'm hoping I can increase my budget by a tenner a week from June payday if pay award is agreed.

Another £12.44 in Lidl on odds and ends, only called in as I went to dentist to be told appointment is tomorrow, they would have fit me in if my new partial denture had arrived, sadly not there, so another trip tomorrow.

Pretty much lost the plot budget-wise over the marathon/birthday weekend; however that's coming out of a different "purse" so doesn't need to be added in to my everyday grocery tracking. But I hadn't added in £30 spent at last Friday's market and £25 spent today, so that's on there now, and it looks like I might just squeak in inside my budget if I'm careful. Fingers crossed!

Oh no, another one bites the dust! :(

Busy morning - GP for (routine) blood test, cash machine (to check balance, thanks to TSB banking fiasco), then on to Sainsbobs for household/cleaning items that I have a separate budget for. However, I also bought milk and a couple of other items (all on shopping list) to bring the total spend up to the £20 mark so I could use a £3 MOC coupon. Separated out, the grocery spend was just £2.95. :)
