You need to fight your corner, following the suggestions given on this Forum, or any other suggestions you may have been given. Here you have to establish your battle plan, or your strategy. There is never one perfect answer - if there was countless wars would never have been fought and lost.

Which means all that you are told on this forum, or elsewhere, may not be the perfect way forward. But bear in mind a key point. Only you have seen the windows, only you have weighed up Zenith. Only you have (hopefully) carefully analysed the actions and mindset of those involved so far.

At some stage I suggest you need to get professional help on board. This will cost, so you have to decide when this happens. This, of course, is part of your strategy.

thanks furts any idea how I could find such help?

I've tried trading standards and zenith complaints but need to escalate I think as a stalemate at present.

I had also paid £700 on credit card luckily

That you have paid a significant amount on credit card means you can hold the CC Co. jointly liable - Would be worth dropping them a note to see what help they can provide in order to avoid any legal action.

Don't suppose you have legal cover on your household insurance (or a member of a trade union) ?

They have offered to remedy the faults and you have refused. Is that correct? If so, you're not going to get anywhere, you need to give them opportunity to remedy the issue. If their work is still not satisfactory then you have the option to make a s. 75 claim against the CC provider, to take them to small claims court, or if they are part of a scheme, to complain to the relevant ombudsman.

I can understand your confidence in them is low, but you can't just turn them away if they are trying to put things right.

(And please stick to one thread. This is your third and you're giving slightly different information on each.)

I googled 'how do I get faulty double glazing installation assessed ' and came up with

    https://www.dgcos.org.uk

    https://www.fensa.org.uk

I would think these might be good places to start asking such questions.

Note I said start asking questions.

Boris they have been back once to make good and added all the extra picture frame mouldings - then returned again to replace the two broken windows and replace cracked beading. They managed to replace one sealed unit ok but on fitting the other promptly broke it again. They then left the broken beading and other probs and left which is when the office lady rang to ask me to pay!!

The manager came to visit and we agreed he would not be re-refixing anything but listing mutual probs - he in fact came with a fitter and tried to refit the cracked unit for a third time - as we had not agreed any fitting that day I said no.

I wonder if you might be best initially asking them what are your options to deal with Zenith (as as far as Zenith are concerned there is an outstanding bill) and do you have to allow them to carry out repairs, where you should go for an inspection report etc.

Simple bullet pointed questions. Just to start with.

Just blindly sending pictures and an essay (not meaning to be rude) won't help right now. You need to know the best way to proceed. In your place, I'd be looking at getting a report. In your situation, I have no knowledge about double glazing and would have no idea exactly what had gone wrong so could easily be persuaded to agree to a fix that won't work.

A dispute exists, but only if you have formalised this with a written notification. Look at matters from a Zenith perspective. It is likely the lady is saying "work was done during Feb, payment is due on 28 days credit, that will be at the end of Mar" That keeps Zenith's accounts straight. If your account is not labelled "in dispute" then you will be chased for payment, simply because the lady knows nothing different from her norm.

There are many posts, and different threads, and I have not stored each item in my mind. Is it 1960s home, (cavity walls - any insulation present?), you are having building work done, (renovation job), you do not live there, and Zenith were working in an empty property (builder was supervising/inspecting work, or was anyone else doing this?).

Whilst you have a link to GGF, and similar, it is pointless contacting such organisations unless you first have followed a procedure/notification/complaints procedure - call it what you choose. This mindset is no different to what you have experienced with Trading Standards.

If you feel out of your comfort zone in all this then it becomes a problem. Many folks would go to a solicitor - you may have legal expenses cover(?) But a solicitor knows nothing about building works so there is then the additional costs and work getting somebody professional on board who can comment on your windows.

Come back to the forum with a couple of simple points. Where are you in formalising your complaint in writing? What is your chosen route forward?
