Over charged water bill

Options
I live in a non-metered house (cannot have one fitted) and have just received my annual bill.
It’s a 2 bed but noticed they (Southern Water) have been calculating it for a 4 bed house!
We have lived here 3 years, and checking back, have always paid for a 4 bed!

Simply; am I entitled to a refund for the last 3 years?

Welcome to the forum. Have you actually contacted Southern Water and asked them the question? What have you got to lose by doing so?

how do you know you are paying for a 4 bed ?

I thought the bills would just have a RV value on them if you don't have a meter

EDIT: I see they base bills on bedrooms is cant have a meter

It is only if you are paying an assessed rate that the number of bedrooms is relevant.

Otherwise in an unmetered property the charges are based on the Rateable Value(RV) - shown on the bill.

Are you on RV billing or assessed billing? If you requested assessed billing after requesting a meter and being told it was not possible, then when was that? Th switch to assessed billing will not be backdated beyond the date you applied for it.
As pointed out above, RV billing has absolutely nothing to do with the number of bedrooms, or your council tax band.
