That really made me laugh how did you NOT know it had a timer :rotfl: guessing it must be new
New'ish! Four years, is that new?
I just found the handbook for it when I cleared out the cupboard above the oven. There's no clue on the hob (it's an induction hob) that it has a timer function, only a thing with a tick under it, never tried it before.
Also found the handbook for my fan oven so am exploring all the different functions now that I have a legend for the icons. I worked out the fan oven and the grill parts early on, the other six functions were a mystery. I wasn't living here when the kitchen fitters were in and then assumed they had chucked the manuals out.
Seems I just filled up the cupboard without looking at the inside.

Afternoon campers (in my best Hi Di Hi voice
)
We had snow this morning but it did'nt stick on the roads, it's trying it's best though. The snow flurries are vicious coupled with the wind. Unfortunately we are due more snow tonight into tomorrow so I don't know if "Sunday Lunch" will be on the cards. I noticed that the bird feeder even has icicles hanging from it ! Brrrrrrrrrr.
I have been busy doing the "Saturday Scrubbage" ( love that saying, but I can't remember who said it. Sorry mind like a sieve) Bed changed, WM did it's thing twice, DW filled and finished. I have dusted and hoovered downstairs, cleaned the worktops in the kitchen, the cooker top and bleached the sinks. The bedroom has been dusted and hoovered too, so there's only the bathroom left to do, but that can wait for another day. The washing has been dried, sorted and put away while Mr Fix It has been banished to the shed. Actually he's still trying to finish Barbie's wardrobe, so he took himself off at 9am armed with our travel kettle, a mug and lots of coffee. ( I'll probably have to go and retrieve those because he won't remember to bring them back :rotfl: ). He did come back for lunch but he's vanished again. He's probably afraid I'll ask him to do some cleaning too :rotfl:.
Now I have downed tools for today except to strip the chicken carcass ready for tea. Mr Fix It is making his chicken and black pudding wrapped in bacon. Don't know whether to have chips or cheesy mash with it.
Just had a call from Joan telling me that there's a boy getting into her house, apparently he's coming in around the side of her fireplace, and he's bringing his mother . When I asked how old he was she said well he's been living up the back since she moved into her house. She's been here since 1947 !
RedRuby I hope the Dr can sort you out, sounds like he's on the case.
LW I lived in concrete cow land for 6 years.
NRA :hello:
Nelski just you hold on to those bloomers :rotfl:
Lots of love and extra hugs to Holly.
Anyway the chicken will not strip itself, so I will love you and leave you. Take care all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Thanks NELS for the Holly Update. I was going to say the same as LW - it's like being in prison with 3 hours out this afternoon for good behaviour. Nonetheless I hope she has a pleasant few hours with her brother and he manages to raise her spirits a bit. Poor lass.
Well I braved the exceedingly nithering wind this morning and got the bus down into town. Not many brave souls on it! I went to Boots to collect my delivery to store item and the assistant returned with a box the size of a suitcase!! How the h*ll do I carry this I thought! Sat on a seat in the centre and fought my way into the box (sealed like gold bullion from Fort Knox) and put the contents in my big Seasalt shopper, Then left lugging the empty box but where to dispose of it! It wouldn't fit into any of the openings of the centre's waste bins but I eventually spotted a larger bin outside the bus station to ram it into! What a waste of heavy duty corrugated cardboard that was!
My idea of watching odd things on catch up has come to nothing! The tv is alternating between football, horse racing and rugby! Bah I hate all the sport that's on every Saturday! Out of sheer boredom I might have a bit of fun ironing!
RR your GP sounds a sympathetic one so make sure you utilise your 2 weeks sick leave by resting - not tackling jobs!
Enjoy the rest of the day folks and keep warm! xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

TA - I'm watching the Talking Picture TV channel this afternoon:16:00 Sea of Sand 1958. War. Guy Green. Stars Richard Attenborough, Michael Craig & John Gregson. The Long Range Desert Group go on an expedition through North Africa to destroy a huge Nazi fuel dump.
It's OK, just got it on for background noise as I do other stuff.
Really looking forward to :18:00 The Lady Vanishes (1979) 1979. Thriller. Directed by Anthony Page. Stars Herbert Lom, Elliott Gould, Angela Lansbury & Cybill Shepherd. A diverse group of people are forced to unite when one of their passengers disappears.
A real golden oldie even if it is the remake and not as good as the original.
Talking Pictures is on Freeview / Youview channel 81, Freesat 306, Sky 343 and Virgin 445.
I've just been cancelling my DM's car insurance and vehicle tax and informing DVLA of change of ownership. All a bit faffy but it's done now. She can now stop worrying about the car and I can stop worrying about her worrying about the car.0 -
Hi GERS yes I occasionally watch Talking Pictures too but on a Saturday afternoon it's difficult to prise the remote off Mr TA!! I could go upstairs to watch the tv but I'd probably end up falling asleep on the bed!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

 Just trying to defrost myself after a very trying trip into town...got into the multi storey car park, took my ticket, drove off and my car window refused to move! It was trying to snow, -1 and very gusty and I had to pay to get out of the car park  Drove to our local Halfords who couldn't look at it until Monday so rang the RAC as I couldn't leave it as we park on the main road
RAC chap arrived 10 minutes after calling them, spent an hour on his knees dismantling the door in squally snow flurries and eventually has got the window up & wedged it there. Both of us were perished so when he had finished I gave him £20 to get a hot drink first and a pint tonight
I am now snuggled up in ugg boots, fleecy jumper & leggings in front of the fire with a hot choc & brandyand the cat on my lap!

Busy day for me, managed to get to the chemist for something for my eyes. No relief so far though i expect i am asking too much too soon.
Snow is coming down and sticking. Not for long i hope.
Had a really nice conversation with a man at the crematorium where my daughters remains are lying in the week.... i am having a few issues and needed to explore my options. Tried to talk to Grump about how i was feeling and the conversation i had and it didnt go well. I am shutting myself away for the evening.... mentally kicking myself for not ignoring my feelings and wanting to talk about them.
Youngest is out with the lads, apart from the odd text, ive not seen or heard from him for 24 hours. He assures me he is fine. The Blonde One is having a mid week break at the seaside. The snow hasnt hit them yet. She's panicking about getting home.We spent the morning in bed so have only just finished breakfast.

Evening everyone
On my way into work - finish at 7 tomorrow.
Os not much apart from washing up, listing a few items on eBay and making a salad to take to work to eat. Managed a decent sleep today so feel ok.
Redruby - hope you feel better soon, enjoy your day/night in London with your dd.
Holly - thinking of you.
Nelski - laughed out loud at your bloomers comment. All I could think about were my great aunts bloomers that she used to peg on the line.
Judi - hugs to you. My dh does not do listening or emotions very well either.
Lots of snow on the ground but underground still running so I can get to work.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.0
