Good morning everyone.
The wind is wild today, my back garden looks like a typhoon blew through it. Even heavy ceramic pots with plants in have been blown over. I was about to go out to pick things up but spotted the red squirrel wrapped around the peanut feeder so I'll wait a while and let it feed. All the hazelnuts have gone from the squirrrel feeder already.
I've put a white wash on, perhaps I can get it out on the line whilst the wind is raging. It's bitterly cold so I'll be putting the stove on soon. I'm wearing four layers of clothes already.
Today I need to clear out rubbish and at least get it in the car. There's cardboard boxes to add to the pile in the barn. We have a summer bonfire of cardboard but mostly a neighbour takes them for posting stuff to his clients.
I hope everyone can keep safe and warm this weekend. The forecast is nasty again. That man was correct the other week.
Happy Saturday to all.0 -
Morning,
Welcome back NRA
Light snow here but bitterly cold. Ive got stuff to do today but i'm not feeling great. I got up several times in the night as i was coughing and i didnt want to wake Grump up. Ive got a poorly eye too. Its red and sore.
Redruby i'm glad the appointment at the doctors went well. Enjoy your day.
Gers if the wind by you is anything like the wind here, your very brave even thinking of putting your washing on the line.
Right, off to throw the vacuum round downstairs whilst Grump is still in bed.
Holly thinking of you. What you are going through at the moment wont last forever.
Onwards and forwards,
Have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

It's on the line! Well, perhaps more like wrapped round it, but the wind will do a good job, I hope. The stove is blazing away with only a very small tiny amount of air going in, lovely and cosy. I've picked up the fallen garden stuff, refilled the peanut and sunflower heart feeders, put more hazelnuts in the Tufty feeder and sprinkled mealworms for the robins and blackbirds.
RR - well done on going to the docs and even more well done on taking two weeks off. You can't keep running on fumes.
Time for some reading now.0 -

Welcome back NRA
Pathetic attempt at snow this morning but it seems to have given up now so good riddance.
Fairly normal Sat here although I did have a lie in after some strange dreams and woke feeling like I could easily do another 8 hrs. Early night for me tonight. Had an enjoyable befriending call ...she has up and down days and on a down day can be a little challenging shall we say for conversation but today she was a lot more upbeat and we had a good chat
So news from Holly is mixed. She cant start her new meds yet as there needs to be a week gap with none. she has been told she will be there for another 3-4 weeks so that they can monitor the new drug. This has understandably really brought her down and she is really tearful:( On a positive her brother is coming today and her doctor has given her 3 hrs with him she is really looking forward to that and a little break from the hospital. she says hi and looks forward to posting soon
Hope the snow doesn't affect all of your plans stay warm and safe0 -
Thank you Nel. I often wonder how she is.0

Afternoon all

Nelski - saw your post about Holly, thanks for keeping us all up to date. At least she now knows the plan and seeing her brother will be lovely.
My washing has survived the east gale and is dry. I'm so pleased, first time I've had washing dry outside since October.
Just to add to my joy I discovered that my hob has a timer on it, tried it out and it worked. No more soggy potatoes.
Simple pleasures for me today :rotfl:0 -

Just playing catch-up with the Daily, as I didn't manage to get here yesterday....LW I am aware you have mobility issues but also that we are not a million miles apart so just wanted to say that if you ever want to come to visit Lu you are more than welcome, she is a gentle, respectful horse on the ground and is always ready for a fuss, as long as you bring an apple with youSo news from Holly is mixed. Redruby I'm glad the Dr has ordered up tests for you; hopefully you can quickly get to the bottom of why you're feeling so grotty, and get something to put you back on track.
I was out at 07:00 for Lizzie's walk this morning; it was snowing, and she didn't want to hang around, so we were out and back in record time. We still did the usual walk, but she wanted to go at the full 4mph the mobility buggy can manage.
No sign of the snow settling thank goodness, though. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
