Quickish Q on Sky package

Hi,

Had Sky for years so probably out of any contract. Paying £50 for Variety with Cinema pack.

Any reason I can't phone them and insist on being switched to 'Sky Entertainment + Sky Cinema' for £30 a month?

Don't want to change box, my Sky HD is fine, I can hardy see any difference in the channels between the old and new packs, certainly everything I watch is in the newer one.

There's no reason you can't ask (as opposed to insisting), but if you offer £30 they'll snatch your hand off anyway. It's £20 for Entertainment plus £10 for Sky cinema at the moment so you're not asking for any discount (after paying full price for years presumably).

If you're a little bit more proactive you'll get it for less. You don't get HD or Boxsets for that but they're £5 each add-ons that people have been getting for £2.50 each or even just £1 (people have also had Entertainment for just £11 but you'll need to be pushier to get that).

If you're happy to join on a new contract you may be able to get a better deal. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that...
